It's the thought that counts right?

1.) A bigass jar of buttons from Grandma.
-She told me that in case I happen to lose a button, I could get it sewn back on. She poured them out and said, "Oh look! This one is pretty! How about this one?"

2.) Flaming Pajama Bottoms from Grandma.
-When I recieved them, they still had the Wal*Mart tag on them. "Oh I got these from Wallyworld in Richardson! Don't they look nice!? Try them on!"
It's been over 2 years since I got them and not once have I worn them.

3.) A bead jewelry set from sis.
-She said, "I know you're into arts and things so I got you this super-cool bead set! Let's play with it!" I knew damn well that she bought that gift for herself.

4.) Three cans of French-Style Green Beans from Grandpa
-The same exact cans I saw in the pantry, delicately wrapped in brown paper bags, topped with a bow. I gave him a somewhat disappointed look and he raised his hand and said, "What!? Boy don't wanna eat, eh!?" We ate them later that night.

5.) A dud tear-gas grenade from Uncle Scott.
-He used to work border-patrol and sometimes worked as a riot cop. Now he's the sheriff of a po-dunk town of 500 people and gave me this somewhat cool tear-gas grenade. This may be irrational but I fear it will blow up one day.

Aren´t those for wearing and not playing? How does one play with them, anyway.

Playing with beads was a popular pastime in my elementary school, even I did it... you pretty much have to employ your fantasy (not such a everyday thing in the age of Wiis and Gameboys anymore, is it?). One variant I remember being popular among our likes, for instance, was building little fortifications out of plastic dominoes and trying to shoot down each other's with the beads, taking turns.

I remember taking some of those beads out of my sister's necklace set and shooting them at her with those huge straws. Those things fucking hurt. Sometimes they'd get stuck because the hole is placed just right so the air just goes right past them, but that's when you blow a lot more air in them and they come shooting out at much higher speeds.

Those things leave welts, man.

Other than that, I've never played with beads or marbles or stuff like that when I was growing up.

Back on topic:

There was one year that all I got for Christmas was an Orange. A really dry sour juice orange. I was bad that year, but then again, we were poor too. Everyone else got apples.

I also once got a broken iPod with a piece of paper that had Apple's Customer Service number on it.

Tokyo Mew Mew, right? We thought you liked catgirls.

Watch her buy you an inflatable catgirl doll for you-know-what.

I have a band saw. While this mightn't seem odd, it's an odd gift to give me.

Probably this worthless corn flakes dispenser I got once. It's like, dude... way trickier than using the corn flakes box directly.

...or maybe that was a birthday present. Hmm.

3.) A bead jewelry set

I'd totally want one of those! Beads would be fun to play with, you could try them on eachother and pretend you are a pretty girl out on the town and complement eachother on how you look, or "Hey do you think I look better in or " "Ooh, you should totally go with they suit you so well!" and then you both laugh and laugh and have a good time.

The most bizarre gift I got was a Super Famicom in-box. Haha, just kidding, that wasn't a bizarre gift... it was an AAAWESOME gift. Also last month I realized what the SFC logo represents. It makes so much more sense! I still loved it even before I knew what it symbolized.

The most bizarre gift I got was a Napeleon Dynamite flipbook from my mother. My other christmas gifts tend to be a solid mass of amazing.

The SFC logo was also used on the European PAL SNES btw, which used a similar design to the Super Famicom. Why they changed it for USA, I'm not sure.
