I found this and this.
I wouldn't rely on the second one. I actually wouldn't rely on both of them but yeah... they do say there might be a console coming. ____________________ |

Wow, Square-Enix is coming out with a console? I would have expected someone like Konami to come out with a console, but not Square-Enix xd |

I seriously doubt Squeenix would even dare to take such a risky move. |

Posted by RT-55J One thing I've learned from giant gaming corporations over the years, be it software or hardware, is that they are prone to ANYTHING be it sensible or not. That said, I wouldn't buy one. They're better off making games. |

Posted by XkeeperPosted by RT-55JThat's what we said about Sony. And that's what we'll be saying about SEGA if they release a new console. Chances of sucess "None - None." ____________________ |

Square rumors go way too far, seriously.
Don't forget about the "FFVII-IX PS2 remakes" that were published in PSM magazine. |

Posted by XkeeperPosted by RT-55JThat's what we said about Sony. But Sony had a viable format to put forward. They also had a lot of experience in both hardware and game fuckaroundingin, plus they had pockets as deep as Xkeeper's sensitive soul |

Deep pockets is probably a good reason X-box is successful. You have to remember that it was bit of... selling slow at the start. Many thought it was doomed until it's price was dropped. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Many, but those are people that really ignored just HOW deep Microsoft's pockets are and just how experienced they were in the game business. Basically the people that thought it would fail were either fools or game journalists - fundamentally the same thing. |

It's the only reason it's still on the market, actually, Microsoft hasn't made a penny off the Xbox line yet. Instead, they're working on building their reputation in the console business, so they'll be able to make money further down the line. Unless you have a couple billions to throw out, there's no way you'd be able to keep going until the money starts rolling in. |

Posted by ZiffDreamcast had a bunch of interesting games an titles, as well as internet features and online gaming (brand fucking new at the time), and it still tanked, even with Phantasy Star Online and quite many others drawing players up until the very end.Posted by XkeeperPosted by RT-55JThat's what we said about Sony. Just becuase you have good ideas and experience doesn't mean shit. Again, see Sony and their bright ideas this time around. ____________________ I dealt with it. |

So will this be revolutionary?
Like... the first system to dispose of all masculinity to their character designs? |

Remember that money issue I brought up, o Deep and Sensitive one? Plus, Sony was already a mainstream brand name. Sega, ultimately, not so much for the general consumer. |

Silly rumors. I doubt Square Enix has the resources available to mount a serious console challenge. They're probably in better shape spreading their resources around (FF13 for PS3, DQ9 for DS, etc...). |
