If you liked Super Mario 64, you may be disappointed that there's less free roaming in the levels. It's all fairly linear, and while there are branching paths, those paths still feel linear. There are also too many sequences where control is taken away from you. I haven't gotten very far, but right now it doesn't seem like it's as good as Mario 64 was.

Still a very good game, though.

Well you didn't like Doom 3 which was awesome so clearly you don't like good games.

That being said, you say this game is very good which must mean it's the BEST GAME EVER MADE!

(I'm getting it.)

Bah, stupid Nintendo.

Next thing we're gonna have is a Mario game with only two dimensions of movement but 3D everything else.

I still want to play this, though.

I'm getting this too, but I won't be able to even try it out until like this weekend. I'm pretty excited. I wouldn't have preordered it it if they didn't push back SSBB, so I guess nintendo got me there.

Well as you stated, you didn't get very far, so I can't really consider that much of an impression. J Parish reviewed the game and loved it. He likened it to the 3d equivalent of smb 3; just as the first smb layed the foundation for the 2d nes portion of the franchise, the second one (US version) played around a little bit, and the third added a whole bunch of new aspects that kept true to the original, we see a similar trend with the 3d games. If you don't know Jeremy Parish, you should because he knows his shit, especially when it comes to the classics.

Read his review here.

Or watch him discuss it with Shoe and Shane here.

I'm currently most of the way through the game and the level design is only marginally less linear than it was at the start, so the complaint holds. Besides, I didn't exactly say that it was a bad game; on the contrary, it's a very good game that has flaws.

Right, and ALL I said was your impressions of the game are not ones I would consider because you didn't finish the game yet.

Finishing the game has no real bearing on my comments. If it takes until 3/4 of the way through to start being truly spectacular, that's a design flaw.

I am getting it, and that was decided before I actually played the game. The next day I came to get that collector's coin that was given away for preorders, and they had it up in the Wii Demo Kiosk. I played it for a bit and decided to pay it off. I also bought that hardback SMG guide. It's got a kickass poster in it!

The game itself will take some time to get used to... I had a hard time adjusting to playing Mario upside down. Other than that, I am going to play the shit out of this game like I did (and still do) Metroid Prime 3.

I hope I´ll get that collector's coin too because I preordered aswell. If not, I´m gonna be really pissed.

I already got it... but I think you gotta ask for it. As for mine, I'm going to incorporate it into my SNES Casemod.

Ask for it? Such things should be included.

I'm hoping to get it at Toys R Us because then you get $25 off any other video game purchase and can then get Contra 4 for $5. So essentially; $55 for Super Mario Galaxy+Contra 4+Contra+Super C

Outside of the multiplayer, NSMB was kinda bad, so...

By the way, there are a lot of segments in Galaxy where it completely switches to a 2D plane. It's well-implemented, though, and you may not actually notice it the first few times.

They were both way better than the single-player, but I really meant Mario Vs Luigi.

NSMB was prerendered, AFAIK.

Except for the giant Goomba boss and the Mummy Pokey.

Pretty sure NSMB was not pre-rendered. If it was pre-rendered, it'd look a lot better.
