...and people resort to using abominations like Imageshack or Rapidshare way too often these days, I was thinking of adding some means of file upload to the board.

Now, as I don't have the time nor motivation to make both, the question is whether we should go for a post attachment system of sorts (with some limit on total file size uploaded per post) or a separate uploader (with a limit on individual file size, linked to board accounts, perhaps grouped into categories) which probably could be developed into a ROM hacking repository similar to the late acmlm.org project in the long run.

Please state your reasoning in the thread; some discussion on the subject wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Alternatively, we could use both.

Yeah, separate uploader sounds like a good idea. Then people who doesn´t have any place to upload their stuff could do that.

I always had the impression that the necessity to find a place to host one's hacks was one of the many high-pass filters that kept the worst kind of stupidity out of SMW hacking...

Last view: 6004 days 		I'd personally go with a separate uploader, because that makes it easier to search for certain files and it's simple enough to link to things manually in the post. Also, it seems pretty easy for individual posts to get lost in the shuffle which wouldn't happen with a separate uploader.
