The last time a hack demo left me this impressed was SMO, and I hadn't seen SMO before back then.

To not leave you with nothing more than a useless "omgawesome" comment, there were a few points that, I thought, needed improvement.
- The cave BG. Too repetitive and simplistic.
- Aya's arm movement while walking seemed too jagged.
- The water coming out of the vertical facing down pipes looked weird/out of place.
- Illogical FG/BG relationship between the rain and the hills in the level before the castle. The hills appear behind the sprite but are not covered by rain, while the sprite is.
- The pipe at the right end of said level (the rainy one, if the above description was ambiguous) behaved in a weird way. I could jump halfways into it, and a shell thrown at it descended straight down at its border rather than bouncing back.
- It's sorts of weird how Aya quickly starts running considerably faster than her fireballs move.

But yeah...

Yeah, the running looks very twitchy. Otherwise this is a rather good hack, although I found one strange bug.

Getting eaten by a fish on Level 3-1 makes you finish that level. xD I also noticed the weirdness with the pipes, such as being able to enter them halfways... as blackhole pointed out,

The Aya sprite is weird when she is running indeed. Other than that, awesome hack. Specially the graphics.
Oh yeah one thing about the special attack when you have the fireflower (B+UP I think), I think it should take a bit less than 5 seconds. Like, 3~3.5 seconds?
And one more thing, I think the first levels are too easy, so is the first boss. But the second boss makes up for that I guess.

Ah yeah, forgot to mention a bug.

When Aya is in a tornado, it's possible to fall down in a pit... have the "You died music play" then jump yourself up again (looking rater glitched).
