Because the one I got with my laptop barely holds a charge any more. I'm not buying a replacement from Dell, because it'll die as quickly as this one did. I've never really bought any hardware online before (except for my laptop), so I don't know where I should start looking for a battery. Does anyone have some reliable sites they could link me to that would sell that sort of thing?

Have you tried looking at Newegg? They carry some batteries that are listed as compatible with Dell laptops, but I don't know if they will fit your specific model.
