I was so shocked by this that I totally forgot what thread I was going to post in the first place. So I came here to the help/suggestiosn/bug reports forum. Then I tried to post a thread about this problem. About three minutes later it went away. Is there a 1 thread per 24 hour limit in force or something? Or was it just a fluke b/c I've only posted one thread and that was almost a day ago, if not more.

<!--stupid center and width hack-->
I would just like to know what the time limit is.

It also bothers me that I cannot compose a new thread while I wait for the time limit....

I think it happens if you try to make a thread soon after making any other post, even a reply.

I keep running into this problem as well...mainly because I type too fast and/or I find something I wanna post about as I'm writing the current new thread.

I've seen boards that are even worse...one board I went to would trap EDITS with the flood control! I couldn't go back to fix a typo right after I submitted a post!

The "You are posting threads too fast" warning should come after you try to post the thread too fast, not when you start to.

Yeah, it's a bit annoying... especially if you're a fast clicker.

Definitely. It's not flooding when you take several minutes to write several paragraphs even if you clicked "New Thread" really soon after your last post.

I lowered it down to 15sec and made it only activate on posting (not trying to start), as it was getting in my way too

The only thing is that the message is misleading. I thought it was a bug at first, because it was saying I was posting *threads* too fast, when I hadn't posted any threads at all. It should instead say "You are posting too fast" or something, to make it more general.

The delay was only 1 minute, I thought that should have been well enough

That was even in AcmlmBoard 1.92, and I don't remember anyone complaining about that back then ...

But did it happen as soon as you clicked "New Thread" like it used to in this version, or only when you submit it? If the flood control only kicked in when you submitted the thread, probably nobody even noticed as it takes some time to enter a post, especially when starting a thread as those posts tend to be longer, and you're entering a title as well as a post. (And with a poll, you're also entering all the poll choices.)

It was only when submitting (on both) ... so yes, that 1 minute includes the time it takes (from the last post) to click New Thread, type the post, preview (if needed) and submit ...

Sure, a legit non-spam post can take less than 1 minute, but I don't think it'd happen that often
