The door is made of metal and has a special lock that can only be unlocked using the method described here. There are 25 bombs, with one wire coming out of each. 24 of the bombs are real bombs where cutting the wire will result in it exploding, but one is fake and will unlock the door if the wire is cut. Your only tools are some scissors and a screwdriver. The fake bomb looks and acts exactly like the real bombs, except for the fact that it doesn't explode and the use of the wire. LIMITATIONS: All real-life physics and movement models apply. You do not have any magical/special abilities/powers. NO HAVING SEX WITH ANY OF THE BOMBS. NOTES: The fake bomb's wire will disable whatever bomb it is on permanently. You didn't mention any of the properties of the bombs, other than that they all look alike. So, I'll shake each bomb, and the bomb that makes a different sound is the fake. I snip the wire, and screw it into another bomb (Since you only said cutting the wire detonates it). Then I get the hell out.
SITUATION: You are in a metal room; the walls, roof, door, and floor are all heat-conducting metal. The floor and door has a heat plate in it. In 20 minutes, the floor will be about 1000 degress, enough to die slowly and painfuly. To make matters worse, there is a robotic ball covered in spikes rolling around the room, and it resists any degree of heat or cold. You have only regular clothes (cotton shirt, cotton underwear, and cotton pants, nothing else), and a hard hat with a lightbulb in it. LIMITATIONS: You must get out of the room via the door. , because I command it. You have no magical powers, or superpowers. NOTES: You can't grin and bear 1000 degrees. Don't try. The only light in the room comes from the glowing hot metal floor, and your hardhat. The hardhat's light will only last a minute, however. The metal door is very high up on the metal wall. What an intresting thread? Mind if I join in...?
Situation: You are inside a large cave. The entrances have all been sealed, and the cave itself is very large, and submerged under an ocean's worth of water. There is also a teleporter, but it is broken, and unable to be fixed. The oxygen levels in the cave are slowly depleting, but will last a long time. In the cave with you, is a catgirl, and both of you must escape alive (Ha!). Neither of you have any special powers, abilities, or so forth at all, including but not limited to any of those that can help you escape. The oxygen will not last long enough to build a tunnel, and there is nothing in the cave that is of any immediate use except for a shovel, an oxygen tank, and a box full of kitchen utensils. Digging deeper underground will result in reaching water, which you can swim through, but you cannot hold your breath long enough to reach the surface. Overexplanation is the best form of hiding a solution in a puzzle. As stated, neither of you have any special powers, abilities, or so forth at all, including but not limited to any of those that can help you escape. The catgirl must accompany you in your escape, for some currently unexplained reason, and the teleporter cannont be fixed, nor does it lead anywhere. All realistic physics and movement models apply, so no godmode on and walk through walls or any stuff like that. Now, let's see you try to complete this overcomplicated puzzle!! The oxygen tank is very big, so I use it to give both myself and the catgirl extra oxygen while we dig a tunnel and swim to safety.
SITUATION: You are trapped in a room. The walls, ceiling, and door are made of metal, and, as such, cannot be broken. The floor is made of metal, and is heating up. In an hour, it will be 1000 degrees and you will die. There is a payphone and a quarter, but directly touching the quarter will result in you getting burned instantly because it is heated up. The door is locked, and it is unknown how you would unlock it as of now. LIMITATIONS: You do not have any magical/special abilities/powers. You may only use the items said above. Hmmm...
That's sounds quite familiar... Anyway, I break a part of the payphone (Which is semi-heat resistant, because I said so) and fasten it into a plate. I put the coin on the plate, and wait until it is all melty. I break 2 more parts of the payphone to walk all the way to the door. I fill the keyhole (that I say there is) with the molten coin. Let's see here...
Situation: You are trapped in a room where two of the walls are closing in on you. All four walls are made of pure diamond, as well as the floor, ceiling, and exit door. The exit is 10 meters above you and locked via keypad. The code to unlock the door is 42 digits long, and by the time you guess it correctly you have been dead for a very, very long time. Your only tools are a nail, a book, a shot glass made of pure Borazon, and a CD-ROM. Limitations: All real-life physics/etc apply (that means no teleporting or using magic, etc). Note: This should be solvable, but then again, I might have misread something, somewhere... ____________________ |

You never mentioned the shape of the wall, which I will assume is rippled-shape, and perfectly symmetrical to the other side of the wall. Once the wall completley closes, I climb up using the Wall Jump (c), and insert the CD-ROM, which explains the code. I put in the code, and get the hell out.
SITUATION: You are in a regular house, but due to a super-duper-ultra-mega-yotta-quadrupal Lazer beam from the future, you shrink down to an inch. There is a button on a table in the basement that will get you to a regular size, but the table's legs are perfectly smooth, and unable to climb, or even wall jump. LIMITATIONS: -All regular physics (And ONLY regular physics) apply. -The SDUMYQ Lazer has a terrible side effect; by each minute, you get weaker and weaker. By 15 minutes, you will be fully paralyzed, and will eventually die. -There is nothing in the house that will help you jump higher, live longer, go faster, etc. -You have no idea how to build machines, except for the simple machines. NOTES: -All the doors are closed. You can't enter through the space on the bottom, because of that weird wind effect. -All appliances are working (*CoughAirConditioningCough*) -The stairs to get down the basement are too tall to jump down, even from 1 step. -You live alone ROOMS: The order of the rooms you decide to travel (And I command), and everything in there: -Bedroom: Everything you normally find on a bed, computer, shag carpeting, toothpick, dirty clothes, belt. -Kitchen: Knives, spoons, forks, table, stove, dishwasher, Corn-on-the-Cob. -Basement: 10 stairs, very tall and smooth table, the button you're looking for on said table. ____________________ "This Island Earth can be yours, if The Price is Right!" -Tom Servo |

I tie the belt in the shape of a lasso, and make wings from the dirty clothes. Due to the very strong air conditioning, it will allow me to soar to my destination. I go from the bedroom and use the belt lasso to turn the doorknob and open the door, then into the kitchen, again using the belt lasso to turn the knob, and then into the basement and onto the table. I push the button and return to normal.

What you were supposed to do was:
1) using the shotglass, cut into the diamond walls in order to create a way to climb to the exit (I specified what it was made of for a reason  (and yes it's a real material, look it up))
2a) use the book or cd-rom to enter the code 2b) use the nail+book(as hammer) to break the keypad open and hotwire it to get the door open And the walls were supposed to be symmetrical ...  oh well____________________ |

Posted by NightKev You'll have to be VERY specific to avoid loopholes. Although no matter how specific you'll get, someone will find one. Just like every single situation that was stated here, as well as this one: SITUATION: You are trapped in a sound-reflecting room; all 4 walls, the ceiling, and floor are sound-reflecting. There is also a door that is locked, and takes a ton of force to kick down (Literally). There is quiet rave music playing, but it is getting louder. Staying in the room for too long will cause you to A. Drown in your own blood and/or B. Have a heart attack as your heart syncs with the music. The sound-reflecting walls, ceiling, and floor is too thick to dig through in enough time, even just an inch. LIMITATIONS: -You must get out in 20 minutes, lest you die. -All real-life limitations apply. -The only things you have in the room is a metal rod, an iron, and a mirror. NOTES: -You can't reach the sound box playing the music, even with the metal bar whilst on tippy-toes. Also, the sound box's source of electricity is outside of the room. -The rooms and door are 20,000,000 feet thick. I stack the iron on top of the metal bar, so I can reach the sound box and turn the music off. I then use the iron to press the metal bar into a key. I unlock the door (I can see the keyhole), where the room disintegrates.
