Probably could add more advanced mechanics while we're at it too. (see dwarf fortress... very CPU extenstive despite using Code page 437 for graphics.)

Shame the ZZT source code was lost long time ago apparently... :/

The problem with that is that it is far too easy to get carried away. Sure, adding stuff like #color, custom sidebars, and arithmetic operations seems harmless enough. Maybe some .MOD support, on-the-fly font switching, and 2BPP graphics wouldn't be that bad, but before you know it you'll be adding stuff like #draw, multiple layers, and snot physics. It would practically be a Megazeux clone.

Well, Smallhacker did a few classes in C++ yesterday. I had some minium input and made a Java version of it.

Nothing more yet though.
