I use randomly generated passwords for almost everything and very rarely use the same password for more than one thing. As a result, I need to keep careful track of passwords. Most of my older passwords I have carefully written down on a sheet of paper, which has been within an arm's reach of my main computer for more than four years. My original Acmlm's board password is even on it! I keep my newer passwords in an encrypted password vault. I can just paste my credentials from it, and when I do, I paste the password first, so that the user name overwrites the password in the clipboard/cut buffer.
So, how do you manage your passwords? |

I use KWallet. It's both encrypted (against a passphrase) and automatically fills out information into some applications (like my browser); can even have multiple entries for the same form.
IIRC, SeaMonkey/Firefox's built-in password database is also encrypted, but I haven't checked for certain. |

I use a .txt file (renamed to have a different extension) inside of an encrypted zip file inside of another encrypted zip file both of which are also renamed to have different extensions and I have the passwords for the zip files written down on a piece of paper. So yeah, it'll take a while for someone to break into there ____________________ |

Memory (I am that good :3)
Also, I tend to relate passwords to my life, but not in direct ways (so no, my password is not "zomgkirby"). It makes them easier to remember. ____________________ |

I use a single letter as password, "password" as password, or use the same password as my username. Get's easy to remember.

Auto-remember passwords too of course, in FireFox and Opera. Why copy/paste or type them up or whatever when I can just skip it all ____________________ |

If you can find one, get a token. It's a small, usually plastic electronic device you can latch onto your keychain and it changes your password every 5 minutes (or a set time interval). Then when you're attempting to log in, you just look at the randomly generated number and access your computer. They are awesome and I really recommend getting one. |

I do not see the point of encrypting passwords and such, I use maybe 3 different passwords for everthing, novody is realy going to want to hack into any of my stuff. |
