To use with xkas, can be applied on every hack. (not sure about hacks using d4's hdma)

So, is it strictly limited to 64x64 pixels? Although I am impressed, it would be more interesting if it could be expanded to a greater size. Nonetheless it's a great modification and I'll be sure to use it. Thanks.

Is this essentially the same thing BMF did with his blob character in the intro for SMO back in the days?

While it is essentially the same thing, I recall that BMF's logo also used a custom palette.

@boingboingsplat: Good logo! That's the kind of thing I'd love to see animated, with sound. The only issue I see with it is the text. It's hard to read, and it would look better if it was centered under the image.

That's what I tried yesterday, but the graphics routine doesn't run every frame

Does it like run only when the logo fades in, then fades out?

If so, that's pretty stupid because everyone knows animated logos are more awesoem than static ones

Would it be that hard hooking unto something that does (or changing the waiting process, if they really were as cheap as making it just busywait through the time) and making it upload tiles from somewhere in RAM to the VRAM?

all the routien does is in the specific game mode, it loads sprite data in the OAM mirror. Then it switches to a 'do nothing but wait' mode. After, it must clear OAM at some point. I never worked on the routine that would have handled that, however.

It's actually pretty easy All you need to do is change one subroutine to a JSL...RTS, and you can change the graphics to whatever you want

Just go to the place in logo.asm which reads:
!PAL = #$00 ;palette/gfx page: 00 = default, next palette is 02,04,06 etc...
...and change 00 to 02. This should yield the gray palette.
