So, that was a pretty interesting first week in college football. Always a great day when the team up north gets humiliated, though it doesn't reflect too well on the Big Ten.

I watched the Ohio State game of course, and the new QB Boeckman looked great, though our O-line and running game looks like it needs some work.

Now all we have to do is beat them, and they'll have the worst season ever.

Bwa ha ha ha.

Ohio State better beat Michigan...that's the one home team a lot of Ohioans can have pride having to call their own.

Let's hope Ohio State can rise up to the top and Michigan somewhere far from it. Then again, even if Michigan does good, that would make a better game when we play..either way it's fun.

Yeah, I was hoping to ruin their undefeated national championship-run season, but this is just as hilarious.

The AP poll came out, and Michigan dropped out completely. Though somehow, Ohio State dropped a rank? WTF?

Man, now Lloyd Carr's almost definitely gone after this year.

But at least it's hilarious to watch now. First time Michigan has gone 0-2 since some time in the '50s. And the 624 yards they gave up was the second-highest total ever in school history.

Meanwhile, the Buckeye offense looked sluggish, especially early, but boy-oh-boy was our defense dominant. Akron had 3 first downs, 3 rushing yards, 69 total yards, and 14 punts. Next week at Washington should be a good game, hopefully our offense gets in gear early.

It's really bad that these two formerly great teams are doing so bad...although that game yesterday made Michigan look a little tiny bit better.

Yeah I was kind of laughing at Michigan the whole game b/c beating Notre Dame this year doesn't seem to be much of an achievement. They ought to be a lot more worried about what's to come later. Mike Hart is an excellent player but he probably won't be able to walk all over a defense that knows what it's doing. That and Notre Dame's incredibly bad offensive line doesn't do much to mask how bad Michigan's defense is.

I'm wondering if Michigan's defense will be as good against other more straightforward offenses (read: not spread offenses) this year.

Also, obligatory Ohio State mention: They looked sluggish in the first half, pulling away in the second half, which has been par for the course so far this year. Big Ten season starts this week (and consequently, the first game I'm going to, woot)

Texas had a pretty close game, and I didn't see too much of USC's game, since I got drunk at the bar.

The USC game was close for about 4 possessions then it spiraled out of control. But did you really think Pete Carroll would lose on his birthday? C'mon.

Went to my first home game this year. Pretty sweet seats. And there's nothin' like a 45-0 lead at halftime.

Not to mention the close calls- USC barely pulled it out against Washington, Cal needed a goalline fumble to avoid OT, and Wisconsin went to the wire with Michigan State.

Huzzah, now Ohio State is 4th. We just have to keep winning and hope 2 out of the top 3 teams slips up. Only 2 games left in the season seriously worry me-- Penn State at Happy Valley at night, that place will be rocking; and of course Michigan. But the way this season has been going, anyone can lose to anyone.

So let's see what's happened since the beginning of October:

#2 USC lost as 41-point favorites to Stanford
#5 Wisconsin lost to Illinois

and most importantly, this Saturday:
#1 LSU lost in 3 OT to Kentucky
#2 Cal lost to Oregon State

...which brings us to Ohio State's new shiny rank: #1 in all polls!

Now all we have to do is win out and we're headed to our 3rd championship game in 6 years! Though the way this season is going, that is most definitely easier said than done, especially with an upcoming night game in Happy Valley and the always tough rivalry game in Ann Arbor...

Wow..sorry about the delay here. I kinda went away from the board for a while again. I live in a small town called Barberton..not too far from Akron in Northeast Ohio.

How about them Bucks? I like how this NCAA football has been going this year. Seems to be a lot of awkward events happening. I like it. (Note: The Bucks winning isn't an awkward event.)
