I'm really wanting to keep an uninvited guest off of my computer, because they seem to like using it while I'm out and without asking... I don't know how much longer she's going to be here, but I'd like to know if anyone knows of password system type things for Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera, because all three of those are all accessible to the internet, and I feel if I just use the fire wall to shut off internet access until I get back, she'll eventually figure it out... I don't think she'd be able to guess out my password for it though... so can anyone help or suggest anything? I really hate it when people use my stuff without asking.

You could always just set a password for the computer. I don't know of any direct password things for the various browsers.

Set a password on your screensaver and turn that on with a low delay count.

I was thinking of that too, but I usually like to keep my computer on... I'll look into this stuff when I get back, someone will be here so I doubt she'll just hop on, she only seems to do it when no one is around, I know because I don't go to Myspace...

You could try getting something like GnuPG and using it to encrypt the browser's main binary. If the person in question can be expected to be capable of figuring out how to disable a firewall, I wouldn't count on that person not knowing how to install his/her own web browser though. Yeah, I suppose password-protecting the whole thing is the best option.

Eh? Just give your username a password, and log-off whenever you're not using it. That is what I do for mostly the same reason.

edit: Or even just lock (win+L in windows) the computer when you're not there. It'll leave anything you had running going but prompt for a password before you can actually do anything.
