Hey guys, don't forget to try Fraxy in "extreme" mode, it's insane (super-fast weapons fire (for you)), weird things, etc.

GFS-S01 "Dragonfly"

The pinnacle of defensive engineering, the Dragonfly sports nigh-invincible armouring and weaponry. Comprised of specially-designed hull plating, the only way to take one down is to destroy both Nuclear Reactors in the main hull of the unit via the exhaust ports.

Nice firepower, but I think it goes down way too fast...

I come bearing updates! There is a new April version of Fraxy out. It has a nice and shiny event editor that allows you to do things like continuous fire with events instead of stacking multiple weapons on top of each other, and other cool things.
There is a newer Fraxy wiki that actually gets updated. There's another bosspack too (aside from metaFRAXY, this one is called AzFraxy) if you go to the related links section in the Fraxy wiki I linked.
Also there's a brand new Fraxy forum (created March 31 I think) so while there aren't many posts, maybe we should post over there and give it some activity to get it started .

Even more update goodness comes. Download here

Here's what's changed (translation courtesy of blackhole89):
Posted by Fraxy Creator
Updating of the manuals isn't entirely done yet
in relationship to events:
- the name of the "destroyed" condition was renamed to "destroying"/(more accurate translation is "in the process of being destroyed")
Up to that point, no further changes to conditions.
That condition is valid from the point the HP hit zero to the object being removed from screen
- added a new condition named "destroyed"
That condition is only valid in the glimpse the object is being erased from screen
- something about a change towards "event special creation" being after event execution I don't entirely understand
- added "delete if conditions aren't fulfilled" to said "event special creation/setup"
in relationship to the editor:
- removed some bug in related to adding a display flag for deleted parts
- fixed a bug with something like "not being able to load the core normally when data is currently being edited while loading"
in relationship to parts:
- added four new parts named "thruster device"
the same as the present "booster", but there's no effect when they trigger
- added three new parts named "sonic wave"
(can't be assed to translate literally/word-by-word anymore) they work like lasers, but push the player back rather than doing any damage
- added eight new parts named "X degree rotating joint"; available degree numbers are 15-30-45-60-90-120-150-180
- fixed bugs related to event-controlling the blade (hit effects remaining, not fading etc.) in an ad-hoc/half-assed/temporary manner
- fixed the name of the "small rotating 30-60 degree joints" to read the same thing with 15-30 degrees
- renamed filename of the "laser" parts
- changed parameters of "big core 2"
- changed parameters of "booster small"
others:
- removed some temp plug solution for a frame skew occuring when you time events by frame number
- changed the collision detection of the blade
- other small changes
----
I found a few horrible mistakes when reviewing the added parts.
(nothing too important there, just him rambling about mistakes like the "small booster 2" being faster than "booster 2")
Cirvante says the remote blast is slightly messed up graphically, I haven't looked myself though yet.
<Cirvante> and no, disappearing bullets not fixed

I love your designs, Cirvante.

Each boss is balanced, and they're much harder than the default enemies.

I'm back in the game, woo~

EUF/S-414.2 Alétheia (Truth)

Developed in the late 2280s by a conclave of weapons and aviation companies, most notably Xassault GmbH and Leafen AG, this aerial assault platform quickly entered service in the European Union. A key player in Operation Troia, the victory against the SHION in 2297, a fleet of merely four Alétheias were enough to bring down their heavy battlecruisers, the SHS-14 Heimdallr and the SHS-44 Vishnu.

Loosely based on the Arkbird from Ace Combat 0, its main armaments are its high-power Minovsky particle beam, and a free-aiming 50-barrel 160mm spreader cannon. Frontal armaments consist of several regular and armor-piercing 160mm cannons, EMP mines, and plasma-cavitation AIM-44 Fireball radar-tracking missiles. The weak point is the back, where its three self-repair modules are; no defenses are stationed there, and the only thing that could catch an enemy off-guard is the spreader. Revisions on the original design are currently being made to address these issues.

Artificial Spellcard #001: False God -Akasha's Will-

For all you Touhou fans out there. I'm experimenting with different bullet hell patterns. Let's see if you can avoid all this with a hitbox ten times bigger, hehe >8)

Wow, I especially like the graphical effects on the weapons fire in the second image. The youtube videos linked to in the Fraxy Wiki make it look like a lot of fun to play.

Obviously, its rear end poses as a sorts of weakpoint; the glowing blue things go down considerably faster than any of the guns in the front. Still, thanks to its constant front-turning, it provides a nicely challenging experience. Good job.

Btw guys there's a new version (05052008a) out to fix the remote blaster bug.
Also,
[17:21:31] <~blackhole89> - fixed useless parts files finding their way into the patch
(I suppose that's what he means)/being mixed in (literally)
[17:23:37] <~blackhole89> however, redundant files can still remain if you extract the
update on top of the old setup
I dunno what Fraxyman was saying there but eh.

Artificial Spellcard #002: Cosmic Force -Starlight Ripple-

Four gravity fields constantly pulling every which way amidst a storm of large bullets and rings. This should prove interesting >8)

Note that all you need to do is survive; thanks to the magic of variables, it disappears after 70 waves of power balls have been fired.

Download

Artificial Spellcard #003: Stellar Spiral -Galaxy of Illusions-

OH MY GAH BULLET HELL D:

While this wouldn't be a problem for an avid danmaku player (and a sufficiently small hitbox), Fraxy physics will make this battle slightly infuriating if you approach it head-on. As with the other one, stay alive long enough and it'll self-destruct.

Time for a kickass Fraxy update. A grenade weapon part has been added, as well as...the effector! Basically it creates all kinds of special effects, which can of course be controlled by events and such. I don't believe that they do any damage but they're cool to look at.
Sadly, this breaks Peardian's Arwing/Wolfen weapons mod. Now all you can keep is the ship and the interface if you want the special effects/grenade. Hopefully Peardian will update the images.

I haven't felt like posting my creations until now, and all I give you now is one: the Peacock.

A pic of each form:

...Yes, it's different, the parts move in the game.

Also, it does have other weapons than the beak.

The only way to destroy it is to destroy the 8 generators on the 20 "feathers". Please note that it's pretty old, so it doesn't have any new pieces and is very easy to take out, even if it may take a while.

Hey there, La-Mulanites fellow Fraxy players. There's a new update (20080606) out, it adds a bit to the editor (a total framecounter in the top right) and something about replays too. Sadly, the disappearing bullets glitch in the editor still exists...

Oh whoops, forgot to post the solution to the editor's disappearing bullets glitch (you can thank Madman200, it was his idea, I only tested to see if he was right).
Anyway, if you want to hit the "reset" button, first hit the "stop" button and then wait for all of the bullets to disappear, wait for a couple seconds afterwards, then hit "reset". It appears there's some sort of "bullet counter" that doesn't get reset when you hit "reset", so you have to let it get back down to zero or else it gets maxed out.

That reminds me, I should peeerobably update my Fraxy.

I mean, my version's like from 09/02/2007 or something.

Fraxy now has an irc server for it.
Here
Or to manually connect:
/server irc.nightkev.shacknet.nu
/join #fraxy

It'll be up 24/7 in a few days (gotta take apart a few old comps for spare parts and stuffs). For now expect it to be up from ~12/1pm to ~12am (GMT-8) daily.

Btw, this server has been retired for who knows how long, so don't try and connect, it won't work.
