We have another hacker. Boo hoo.

Oh well, ignoring him, I'm continuing with my staff activities.

We have a few options concerning the future of the board. I've brought them up in the other thread but as to make it easier for all to see, I'm making a new thread.

1: Destruction of the board.
Quick, easy, gone. No more hacking bullshit. No more fucking drama. If we stop all posting and save the rom hacking sections at least it'll be good.

2: Restart.
We go back to square one with all members, with everything taken at face value. No "he sucks because he is him" and shit like that. If we take this route the staff would be from both sides and all would be welcome back.

As for the merger... if we did Plan 1 we all go our seperate ways anyway, whether it be ||board or Justus or whatever the hell else is out there. There will still be IRC at least, so not like we all lose contact with each other.

Let's get a poll, shall we?

so yesterday i was reading their rpg makr forums and i saw an interesting thread which led me to

gamingw is a site about game making
acmlm's is a site about game modding

gamingw jocks dont give a shit about gamemaking dudes
acmlm's jocks dont give a shit about romhackers

gamingw is going under a "SO YEA IT IS DECLINGING PHASE"
acmlm's has been on this for years

gamingw seems to have figured out why

why is gamingw declining? they say it's because they dont have a main site thertefore they dont get new people.

I"m saying 2 because even though it's not Acmlms, if someone like cpu or whoever stands up and leads with a sort of mix of Xk, bh89, and perhaps ||bass (perhaps because I don't keep up with how he runs||board), I personally think there might be a chance that the drama can be removed... but the 'Acmlm' name would have to be dropped, no two ways about it.

||board is actually the most objective administration-wise out of any board I've ever seen, mainly because we only have like 4 rules all of which are insta-ban and all of which are straightforward to interpret (IE, "No flooding the board" does not leave much room for bias).
I don't even think we have four rules. I can only think of three really. "No flooding.", "No illegal material." and "No signing up just to advertise and never actually post anything." Nothing else ever made any real sense to me. I think having more rules than that would be a sign of taking an internet forum way too seriously. The idea of a site like this is to have fun after all.


While I want number 2, I also agree with Knuck that the place needs to be attached to an actual site.

Looks like its about half and half for both. Plus we got the minority vote for three oh boy.

One sounds good to me. Some, if not all of us, are already on ||board and Justus 2, so what's the loss? Once this is all over (if it ever ends) I'll probably end up on ||board myself while still being on Justus 2.

Sounds good to me really. Even if there is a main site do you expect this hacking/drama to end? I don't.

Seems to be the simplest easiest way. blackhole89 doesn't want to have to run this place because of the drama. The only problem is, for some strange reason, he opened this board when Acmlm's board officially ended. Doesn't make sense why he'd do that.

I don't have any problems with this idea either. Personally, if this idea happened, I think the board should shut down, Ailure and blackhole89 should pick their staff, and the board should be reopened and the two can promote the staff as they register.

With ||board, Justus, and romhacking.net, I don't see who would lose on this deal either. If they still don't want to register at any of these boards, they can go find some other message board. Or they can start their own message board. Or, if all those fail, they can cry and cut themselves for caring so much about an internet message board.

tl;dr: I prefer 1 over 2, but 2 isn't a loss either. I just don't want to see the board remain how it has been.

I have to agree with you for the most part here though.

I've already seen the source, and I know exactly where a few holes are. And the lack of holes, Xkeeper did a good job patching up SQL injection holes to the point that I only know of two (one is useless, activity.php, and the other is index.php marking forums read).

If ||bass agress, I don't see a problem merging with them, besides, some rules against strong content/language and that forum is perfect.

Again, getting a new and secure forum system is a good idea too. I think phpBB is already nearing the stable release of 3.0, MyBB seems good too.

Or whats wrong with paying for a forum system like IPB, WoWBB or any other...
