setz you're right about SOME of those things.
1) yep there's no need for the board to die 2) even though 1 is correct, and as much as I hate to rely on Acmlm, I talked to him right after the dootimer came up. I asked why he was grouping with Xk again even though Xk backstabbed him in the past. He said because he wanted to put an end on this, like he should have back in 2003. Look, I know Acmlm. I won't say I know Acmlm like if we were brothers, but I know him enough to know when he does things "just to go back to ro" or when he is serious about it. Over the past... 4 years I've been talking to Acmlm I think there was no other time when he told me how he really felt about the board. When I asked before I just either never got a reply, or he would reply the usual "dont care want to play ro". This time was different. Really, this board couldn't have ended in a better way. It's finally dead. Did Xkeeper do it because he didn't like the way it was run? Yep. Did Xk enjoy killing it? You bet. Did Xk "use" Acmlm as an excuse to blow up the board? I am not sure if that was his intention, but that point is moot. Acmlm wanted it dead, let it fucking die already. It's fine if you name it bh's board and keep the community. Nothing wrong with that. I suggest you use IPB or some other forum software though.  |

Actually the whole thing of BH not wanting to lead is something I wanted to bring up too, though Xk's first thread dissapeared before I could. I think he wants to let Acmlm run it, which is pretty delusional of him, things would make more sense if he actually stayed long enough to get a word in edgewise. He really shouldn't have brought the board back if he wasn't going to be here to deal with it, did he really expect things such as this to not happen?
What he's doing right now translates to me as : "I want to keep the board alive, but I don't want to run it." Which won't work if this board is to be restarted. Really, it's not working now either, since there's no-one to run it, the staff revision is supposed to fix that, but he doesn't want to be the one to judge it, so that leaves no-one in charge of the community. ____________________ There are things I want to put here. Like a cool picture, my 8-bit theatre character test result, my MS and RO characters... But it's 12 AM, and I'm sleepy. |

I don't think Acmlm really had much to do with the board dying, other than trying to quell people who don't know anything about anything. Either way from what I hear RHDN is getting flooded so we've got to keep these people somewhere. Would you rather your neighbor have a bunch of pigs or would you rather have a bunch of pigs in your backyard :'( Not that they don't have pigs either. I almost posted this same exact thread, except I ended up PMing it to blackhole to avoid drama.
Simply stated, if acmlm no longer wants acmlm's board to exist, then it needs to go; but I find it perfectly acceptable for Blackhole to start a board as a successor of sorts. |

Honestly, when the shit hit the fan last night...you know what I did?
Hit the power button on my monitor and watched Yuu Yuu Hakusho last night. Got the whole box set of it that just came in for my 23rd birthday. Not a bad catch at just over 100 bucks US and it was well worth my time. Why am I bringing that up? Simple. I had spent my time better watching cartoons than dealing with this board or any other forum's lame ass. That said, I, in no way, approve of the crap that went down last night especially after a certain leader told us that there weren't supposed to be any crap of ANY kind to be displayed TO forums or AT forums about this particular board. Now isn't that something, he goes and freaking lies to everyone's face and makes a community look freaking ridiculous when he could've just as easily continue to revel in the fact that this place is making itself look vomitrocious day-by-day thanks to inadequate leadership shown by so many staffers and to the damnedest fact that no one seems to give a rat's ass if this place were alive or if it was flushed down the toilet. One of the better things that came out of that mess for the longest time is that truth finally came to light. This place needs death. So be it if Ace no longer wants this place. He said it himself. Hate to break it but the man's word is of God. Now that doesn't mean you need to go through and delete the forum and that's it. Rather you should take any mention of his name, as people have already suggested, and strip it of this place and get your own style going and actually RUN IT. That or you need to up and deep six the forum as it was and take the crap that comes from it. If merging the board with ||board is an option...FUCKING go with it. There are so many people that would be overly anxious to take this place up and run it, regardless of what (mostly JU) influence this forum has against the concept. I honestly think a merge would be the best potential this place has left and I'm not bullshitting. If you had even a decent week's work towards something like that I would whole-fucking-heartedly guarantee that the performance of this community would 180. Whether in a good or bad direction...I couldn't tell you. That's up to maturity...and I actually have faith that it would be in the good way, to be brutally honest. So it's rather ironic. I hated the fact that our end was made a complete and utter idiot out of something as FUCKING ridiculous as what happened last night but I absolutely applaud the fact that this forum had met its end, even briefly, last night. Why? Because when I work 10 hours a day, M-F, and I come home to this bullshit I don't really care to answer to it anymore these days. To have that taken out of my life was a breath of fresh air. That said, if things don't change real fast, I may as well up and resign...I may just do it flat out coming up here really soon actually because this is old. We should've been over this crap next to two months ago. |

I think that if Acmlm wants to kill HIS own message board, then he is fully within his rights to do so, and there's absolutely no reason why his wishes should not be honored.
Does the community of Acmlm's Board have to die? Absolutely not. But Acmlm's Board does. Justus, ||board, whichever you choose, all have the same exact people who have once been united under the name of Acmlm's Board for years and years. Nobody expects you all to get along, but your community will never die. Just this board. And, especially if Acmlm, of all people, thinks it should die, then it should die. blackhole should start his own board based on his ideals and his staff members, and the community that was once built up at this address is very capable of staying here. Sure, it won't be known as Acmlm's Board -- it won't be -- but the same people will be here. And that's what "community" is about - it's not the board, it's the people. Get together at another board and you may as well have just what you had before. The death of this board will not mean the death of this community. Believe that. ____________________
