My classes for the fall semester sound a bit more exciting than a lot of what you guys are taking. If you define "exciting" as "dry, boring English courses," that is.

I define exciting as being stuck in front of a machine that fires horrifying amounts of radiation directly into my face all day. I never know when I'm gonna get cancer!

Except the lab has LCD monitors now...

In modern English or the original text? :O
I have a feeling it will be a bit of both. I couldn't tell ya for sure yet, though.

It's kind of hard, but I thought most of it sounded better, and was intuitively apparent in meaning.

When we read Beowulf, we kept the Modern and Old English versions alongside one another but rarely, if ever, referred to the latter. That was in my senior year of high school, though, and so I figure a 300-level college course is likely to focus at least slightly more on the Middle English in addition to Modern. I would assume that the Canterbury Tales would be easier to figure out than Beowulf, simply because it's written in a more recent style of the language. Sound about right?

At 21 credit hours, I don't blame you for planning on dropping stuff.

Squash: He probably grabbed that off of a "detail schedule" page. They tend to omit names in favor of locations.

Starting in two weeks and a half or so. Course in Computer security and uhm... I think firmware programming was it's English name ("hardware-close programming" would be a literal translation).

...NSNICK, SCANDNAV department? D: Scandinavia?
