That I applied for a month ago, at Bournemouth University.

I didnt even know what it was for...I just saw it was the only one left, and applied immediately without even finding out what the course was about.

But now I'm accepted, and ready to start in september, I've decided to have a look.

And woah...I'm a bit worried.

Year One

Interactive Media Design and Visual Culture
Image Manipulation Techniques
Computer Generated Spaces
Multimedia Design Principles
Theories of Interactive Media
Personal Planning, Reflection & Development 1
Digital Sound & Video Production
Interactive Web Page Design

Year Two

Interface Design Principles
Digital Compositing
Personal Planning, Reflection & Development 2
Broadband Multimedia
Professional Project Planning
Professional Project
End of Year Show Planning Unit
*Issues in Critical and Theoretical Study
*Work-Related Learning

Sounds like a lot. Hopefully I'll cope with it all...But anyway.

Having a history in film production, I'll be absolutely fine with any visual arts, video production and digital compositing.

But all of this together sounds like quite a challenge. Either way, I was wondering what the rest of you thought about this course?

Would you go for it if you had the chance? And what the fuck is 'Computer Generated Spaces' even supposed to mean?

Some of those courses sound pretty awesome. I'd take it if I had the chance. The one that really caught me was Digital Sound and Video Production. That sounds like it could be some fun.

Reminds me when I started in college.

In the first semester I kept wondering if I really choose the right "class". I can say for sure that I'm happy about my choice as most courses (with a expect ion to a few we had last year) was actually quite insightful, but back then when I started I wasn't as sure.

University and college courses tend to have weird names. What about "Sound design in games"? (and btw, it was more like "Game design" in general... rather crappy course, but the book I bought because of the course was good)

Yeah, I've just finished a two year course in Video Production. My final production is on youtube:

That video is pretty interesting. It reminds me a lot of the movie Pi if you've ever seen it. Very interesting style you have. It's quite uncommon to see videos like that.

A lot of the universities around here are too expensive to consider. $20000 a semester is far too much.

Eight modules... Not sure if you'll be studying them all at once- I shouldn't think so, I studied six modules from end-to-end in my first year.

Rest assured that the web module will be non-work. Anything web-based is usually a breeze for computing students.

The interface principles module sounds like something I did last year. I found it a really interesting thing to study, and it's definately affecting the direction my career is progressing in. I might get a significant input into our new project involving the interface :-D

Where on earth are you considering? All of the public schools in the U.S. are less than that, and even most of the top-tier Ivy Leagues are under that.

Over here, it's £3,000 a year.

Pretty cheap, considering I only have to pay for one year. And even then, I'm taking out a loan.

And yeah, those are the modules I will be studying for each year, in order. Basically the same as what I'm used to in my previous course.

What looks really interesting about this course is that it's very wide in terms of what is being taught/studied. I can basically move on to a huge number of things when i'm finished with it.
