Vans Warped Tour. Looking forward to Killswitch Engage, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and Underoath. Visit WarpedTour.com for more info. anyway, am i the only one who's been? i'm really excited and I can't wait! and next weekend it's down to Madison, WI for Band Camp (JJOBandCamp.com) and the week after is a trip to Milwaukee for Ozzfest (Ozzfest.com). Basically, I'm excited ____________________ |

Warped Tour UPDATE:
It was an extremely good day. Literally thousands of people (including probably 1000 or more hot chicks ) were there to see all kinds of bands. I stayed away from the crappy emo stuff as much as possible and saw some kickass bands. The best two sets of the day were Killswitch Engage (definitely the best) followed by UnderOath. The sets that really surprised me with their quality were Funeral for a Friend, blessthefall, Gallows, and Poison the Well. The biggest disappointment of the day had to have been Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Their studio performances rock and so does the CD, but the quality of the live performance pretty much sucked ass. We ended up leaving midway through their set. I moshed a little bit for Funeral for a Friend and BlessTheFall, but I saved most of my activity for Killswitch Engage. That's a half-hour plus of nonstop moshing (not to mention a WALL OF DEATH!!!!) plus the first time I've ever crowdsurfed (too bad I lost my shoe and moshed for half a set without one. I ended up finding it up front after they were done). Either way it FUCKING RULED. Overall the day was great. And on top of that, the next two Sundays should be just as good with Band Camp and Ozzfest coming up ____________________ |

So, I hear there's this Projekt Revolution thingy. Anyone been to any of the earlier dates? I'm only interested in Placebo, and may start throwing things at the headliners. |

If the majority of the tour consists of nu metal bands, fuck it. ____________________ |

Ah, well.
I liked warped just fine. My only suggestion was that it needed more ska. Weird to think I was in Minneapolis just three days before that bridge collapsed. |

OZZFEST UPDATE:
just got back and immediately took a shower. thought i'd update before i go to bed. the day was off the hook! wow what a great spent day. it was an extremely good concert. if i had to rate the best sets, Lamb of God was the best followed by a close tie between Hatebreed and Ozzy (he actually showed up!). Devil Driver was in third. I was suprised by this metal band from Taiwan called Chthonic. They put on a decent set and I actually liked their music. I moshed a little bit for Devil Driver and a little bit for Lamb of God, but most of my activity was at Hatebreed. They were probably on stage for a good 45 minutes and I was in the pit the whole time. That is probably the craziest mosh pit I have ever seen. Not sure when or how it happened but i fucked up my left knee pretty good. It hurts to walk and it hurts to move it all in all it was worth the long car drive and maneuvering through the giant crowds. definitely a well-spent day ____________________ |

I am kind of considering going to one of Van Halen's concerts in the fall. Really excited.
EDIT: They're gonna be playing on November 3rd at the Meadowlands in NJ(like a half hour away from my house). That should make for an awesome birthday gift for my sister. (Her birthday's November 1st and since the concert is on saturday, I might be able to make it) |
