I've been working on a hack currently called Super BVG World. I have no plot yet, but when I get one, I will also change the title.

Here are a few screenshots (ignore the stuff on top, ZSNES glitch)of the first to levels (currently untitled).

Level 1

This is the beginning. The pipe is a FuSoYa pipe! For this level, I used SMB2 ExGFX.

Blue blocks contain items for the item box.

By using ice on/off custom blocks, I made these blue blocks slippery.

Rideable Shyguys on Munchers!

Level 2

I made the Boomerang (and all other) Bros. fireproof! I will change the backgroung to Day instead of sunset.

Hammer bros!

Read the message block.

The ending of the level, go around by going up the pipes, killing Boomerang Bros, going down, and jumping away from the Munchers (not shown in SS).

So what to you think of these screenshots? Note that Level 2 has no foreground ExGFX but I will add some soon.

That said, this board is a bit too inactive for my tastes, to be honest. I can still be found, however, on SMWCentral.

Wow... I've been hacking that game for around 6 years, and it doesn't look anything like yours. Quite impressive!

The conveyor belt tiles bother me- The tower made of them seems more complicated than it is.

I've yet to encounter a fun pipe maze in a smw hack. Good luck with that.

You seem to be relying heavily on custom blocks and sprites, but that won't mean anything if it's not fun to play.

Sorry if this sounds overly critical. It's easier to give good advice from demos.

I hope you think of fun things to do with the conveyor belt blocks. Just don't overuse them.

And I hope it isn't easy enough to have 81 lives too quickly...

Thanks for comments!

theclaw: The reason why it seems very impressive was because I've actually been hacking for about 3 years. I've been able to master BlockTool and SpriteTool. Yet I still can't edit the overworld...

FireHaven: Hmmm... never saw the tower as complicated... I'll change it.

BooUrns: Well, the next 3 levels use conveyor belts... I'll change the level order around when I master the overworld. And the 81 lives come from me giving myself some moons (Don't worry, the moons are gone)

Two more levels and an announcement.

Level 3

Level 3 is a cave level. The door is supposed to take you back if you screw up, but when I enter it, I die for some reason. Does anyone know why? (edit with SS soon)

While playing, you might notice the background says BVG.

Go through when the Spike Top is out of the way.

Kick the block with the shell to get the POW (or P-Switch)

Here's another glitch, this one involving the FuSoYa pipes. I don't know what causes this, so I won't release a demo because of this glitch.

The 2nd part is short, but it involves icy conveyor belts.

Level 4

Water level alert!

Another clever use of conveyors; make sure to swim off the belt in the gaps in the ceiling to allow the Urchins to get out of the way.

The 2nd part; I'll be moving the On/Off block a bit farther from the start.

BVG returns in line guide form!

No, you can't get the moon. I just put it there to show that the lineguide is the moon.

A reference to the level editor Lunar Magic

If only FuSoYa was here to see this...

And the announcement is a possible plot idea! I'll be changing Mario to Waluigi. Why? Because some people think he's annoying. The story is after years of torment from Bowser and his kids, Waluigi gets his revenge. I might rename the hack to Wario's Wayne's Waluigi's World. (Yes, the strikethrough is part of the title)

You might not want to put the munchers on a pile like that. And munchers hanging down on a wall looks rather ugly. D:

Screen Shot 1: Well, you should really make some different GFX (and animated!) for those conveyor belts. Also, the blue ? blocks sucks.

Screen Shot 2: (Same as what Ailure said)

Screen Shot 3: Once Again, use the correct palettes for the munchers.

Screen Shot 4: I believe the glitch is being caused for not putting the blank tiles and/or you didn't make them Layer priority enabled.(Just a guess)

Screen Shot 5: Once Again Use the Correct Palettes for the solid blocks. Also, That part should just be a regular grass level.

Screen Shot 6: Don't use the 4-sided square thingy, It makes the level look bad and unprofessional.

Screen Shot 7: Use some more enemy variety. Just Urchins and blurps fail.

Screen Shot 8: OMG you only got 1 enemy in 1 screen. Add a Diagonal Bullet bill Generator. _¬

Screen Shot 9: Man, you're to sophisticated for making letters out of inanimate objects.

Screen Shot 10: First off, DO NOT put a moon there.
It makes the level really bad.

Screen Shot 11 & 12: Man, you're level is going to be too easy if you don't put an enemy there.

That's all I have to say.

It looks like you built most of your hack out of conveyor belts.

Really, don't make most level challenges rely on those.
