There is one board that is going weird. There is one board that is going weird. I'm going to post at both until I fail to feel welcomed at one. I feel the same way, really. I'd like to know who thought it was a good idea to rush all that new staff in, because that obviously was the wrong way to go about things, theres a way to ditch an old staff without losing old/good/honorable/faithful/whatever members, and that seriously was not it. they need to take dictatorship 101 over again. hey ziff, I'm only 19, but I'm starting to lose my teef. I'm way more pathetic and doomed to die first so rejoice for heaven is good or somesuch. NO ASKING FOR POSITIONS ON THE STAFF OR BEING A BOARD CODER I've been asked enough. If you were wanted in the staff, you might be soon enough, do not request it. And absolutely no asking to be a coder on the board; quite frankly, we can't trust that you really know what you're doing or won't screw the board over etc. that did make me LOL, though. ____________________ |

i think a problem with acmlm's board for a long time has been that there was just too much staff, so whatever you guys do here don't let it become like before where there's like 10 admins and 20 full mods. |

What Max said. Keep local mods down, like none.
Then have like 5 full mods and 5 admins. Small. Less personal tensions and it obliges people to be active. |

I think it'd be a better idea (for now) to have no local mods at all.
Just a few admins and full mods. And no more "Staff Application" crap.  |

I thought the staff application system worked fairly well myself. We even adapted (read: shamelessly copied) it twice for mod elections at another forum, and while that only involved getting new staff members instead of a complete staff reorganization, it did it's job very well.
It should be noted than in that case, it was more of a contest between the 10 or so non-staff members on the "not totally out of the question" list, but whatever |

What I didn't like about the staff application system is how it didn't really work.
Almost every time, it just ended up as "keep all the old staff but add a load of new ones". One time there was like 40 LMs. 40! And more admins than full mods. I can imagine some of the old crew getting their positions back (Colin, Hiryuu, and others), but since it's a new board here there shouldn't be much pressure to give everyone and their uncle a staff position. |
