Virus control. Sometimes viruses aren't too smart about jumping drives. Also, I like to isolate the operating system from the rest of the drive. It makes it easy to reinstall the operating system when I need to

So what Microsoft genius came up with the name "Documents and Settings" instead of using something simple like "Users"?
Something like home would work as well, like in the majority of the Unix based OS's.
