Anyways, The Rising Threat is my hack. Two levels are complete, another in progress. The first two overworlds are all set.

Alright...

1.Change the forground or backround pallate.It's hard to tell between.

Thanks for the comments. However, there are some enemy fighting parts in the levels. However, level 2 is a bit too oriented towards puzzles and tricks. I will try to tone it down and/or add more fighting.

Also, don't take too much time to comment. I have impatience troubles.

I like how your canyon overworld look like. But try to make it slightly less squarish, have a bit of irregularity here and there. It looks less artificial that way.

Also it can be dangerous to put the Yoshi sprite directly onto the level as you did with the 2nd last screenshot. If Mario enters that part of the level while riding on a Yoshi, the graphics on Yoshi will glitch up.

...although I might just remember wrong.

Hey, that's a cool idea. I designed a canyon level way back in the day - didn't use that tileset, but the same idea, nonetheless. It looks like it might be fun - that underwater cheep-cheep area looks like hell, though.

The cheep cheep area is a bit tricky, but it doesn't require too much dodging. However, there's a yoshi coin guarded by an urchin. But it's not really hard.

I've also been working a little on the next submap. For now, it's called:
Tranquility River. I might bring images of it when I finish the Echo Canyons and Barren Plains levels of sub-map 1.
