No, only if you offer as a beta tester. (No guarantee you'll get accepted) I don't want too much people on this. And I already stated I had a partner. I guess I'll get him to register here.

I hope you do decide to go with 16-bitized Zelda 2 graphics for the overworld. It would be easier to simulate Link walking thru some trees with Z2 graphics, rather than having one large tree. I just think it would look better.

Why would he do that? What he's shown so far makes it seem that he won't have Link walking on "forest" tiles, rather he'd walk between "tree" tiles.

My main complaint is that the scale of stuff on the overworld is way off. I'd personally suggest using the trees from the GB/C Zelda games so they aren't so massively... massive compared to the player.

Your choice, though. It just looks a bit odd to me how it is.

He could always place the trees and mountains in areas where he won't walk. That's what he was gonna do with those trees anyway, make them unwalkable tiles. Otherwise it looks like in one screen he can only fit about one or two trees.

Did you make all the level tiles level 0 and just name it hyrule field?

Love this idea, you could make something like a pendant or an item like that drops down after a boss to represent a way to finish the level, like you get pendants in lttp or instruments in links awakening...
What are you going to change yoshi to? Or won't it be included...
I'll definitely be one of the first to play it. When it comes out...

Btw, any idea of a release date?
Oh, and if you're still looking, i'll test!

My only major complaint; the houses are going off the cliffs. At that angle, the base od the house is as big as the roof is. So at this angle, the houses are like they are hanging off they side.

Other than that, looking great.

EDIT: Have you thought of adding hills in? Ones that go diagonal.

There is at least one great Zelda II: The Adventure of Link styled sprite sheet out there, that has be 16-bitified...


The overworld Mario is only 2bpp. However, you do have more colors to deal with instead of the very few colors the NES Provides. The title screen is also 2bpp, but you can work around this technical shortcoming by using different palettes for each tile. Using a combination of this and a little creativity, you could make some serious looking graphics with this!
