Everything is awesome except for the text. I'm not a fan of the blockiness. It needs to be thicker.

Aside from that: holy shit.

Wow this looks damn good. The only thing I can say is maybe you should get a new mario sprite to suit his surroundings? If not it still looks fantastic, but there is no reason not to streach that extra... 30ft? I dunno. Nice.

Already working on a new Mario sprite.

Looks good. The graphics styles match, which is great. My favorite graphics are the ones in the second screenshot with the space theme - nicely done.

However, I'm not the biggest fan of your second overworld (the one with Sapphire Temple) Sure, it looks good, but you'll notice in a lot of places (mainly edges facing upward) that there is a bit of yellow cutting off into the brown. Look at the inside of the ? for example .. see how the yellow kind of stick out at the top of tiles? I'd recommend fixing that and then it will look nearly stellar.

Good work.

hm, to make the yellow block message clearer, you may want to change "Where" to "whereas." the only other suggestion I can give is to make the goal bar be one pixel wider and moved over one pixel to the left.

I'm not going to comment on everything... For now I'll just say I wouldn't have drawn a black outline around the sun (beach stage, 3rd screen).

I like the third screen shot. But you should consider removing some outlines in the BG.

SCREENSHOT COMMENT MODE ACTIVATED

  1. The rain looks ugly, and the original SMW ground clashes. The rest looks nice.
  2. Pretty good stuff here. The stars in the top right seem to run together at the bottom though.
  3. The background seems to be missing something. The FG is good, but the trees look odd and the sand has an odd pattern that doesn't line up well with the pipe or fence.
  4. Not bad, but what are those shadow-like spots on the ground and green/yellow things in the air?
  5. Sand problem again. Look at the blocks and pipe sitting on top of it. BG might do well with some detail in that empty space.
  6. Looks very nice, though the top row of lava tiles seems out of place, and the BG could again use a bit more detail.
  7. Very nice.
  8. "Where" might be better as "while". Graphics look good (except the lava again); I like the yellow blocks in particular.
  9. This font is gross, the background totally lacks depth, and the rounded pipe looks weird.
  10. The coins could use some palette tweaking, and the platforms have a grey shadow that just cuts off halfway down the post.
  11. The saw is a bit strange-looking. I like the expression on Thwimp's face.
  12. This font is also gross, and the black outlines have yellow spots in them that should be transparent. The place looks nice, though. I like the gold colour and the question mark.
  13. The red floor looks strange, and the blocks and windows could be better shaded so as to look less like a flat grid. Some sky in the window would help too. The background is great, and kudos for using classic Piranha Plants.
  14. Neat!
  15. I'm diggin' that background, though the dark area once again could use more detail. The leftmost slope looks strange.
  16. Same stuf here. Notice again the bottom of the torch and pipes against the sand.
  17. Great work on the foreground, but the vertical part is missing an outline.

Looking good, but needs a lot of minor improvements.

Yo.

I played your demo.

It's pretty nice, I like the graphics and most of the levels.

The starting level is pretty cool, but I think you messed up the buttons. As far as I remember you use Y to run, not X, but I haven't played it with a real controller for a long time so maybe I'm wrong. Also if you want it to be a comprehensive tutorial you should include vines and ladders. Actually I'd prefer the parts where you have to jump between vines/ladders hanging from a ceiling be taken out, because they're awkward and unfun.

If the text was a bit thicker and less italic I might have actually read some of the message boxes.

On the 4th floor of the tower, you start below the screen, so you would die automatically, except that you also accidentally made it a water level so you can swim through. Bizarre and crappy.

In a few places you put a note block adjacent to a wall. That's bad because the player can kill themselves by getting stuck in the wall.

I was sad that I couldn't take my Yoshi with me for the flight level but that's okay, I guess.

When you go to enter Sapphire Village you die. Oops, can't talk about anything after that.

I was ticked that I couldn't use the switch palaces, especially at that bit with the flying hammer brother and the green outlines.

There seems to be a lack of powerups. Plenty of levels have none at all, which is fine when you're blazing through with firepower but crappy when you saved and came back to find that you have to be small for a few levels in a row. (Unless you go back to Silver Skies and keep getting that powerup on top of the house at the beginning.)

The platinum fortress appears to require you to spin jump on Thwimps, which isn't actually safe. If they're on the way up they'll still cause damage.

That's not to say that it's not good, because it is, I just found a bunch of things to say about it.

The board was hacked. Randomly changing thread titles, posts into [citation needed], and other various little annoyances. Hopefully those'll be reverted to normal soon.

I had trouble with the introductory level, having never played on an actual snes before.

I couldn't get the green switch palace to activate the green switch blocks, so I temporarily removed them all.

The lack of powerups is being worked on.

In platinum fortress, you could spin jump the thwimps, spin jump of the fry bones and on to a twimp, or jump off of a bullet bill. I'm sorry, I think I may have made some puzzles a little to difficult.

On both sapphire flight and sapphire village, each one are impossible for yoshi. I'll make the next world (mt. crystal) more Yoshi-friendly.

I guess I should have tested the patch all the way through.

I'm pretty impressed with the amount of graphics you've changed here. You've put a lot of work into this, and it's good to see such stylistic consistency. I really liked the castle with all the foreground pipes. Oh, and all the spacey areas were really awesome-looking, too. Did I detect altered gravity there?

I did run into a problem: In the level immediately after the cape flight in the cave world, you die immediately upon entering the level. I'm guessing the BG height is set incorrectly.
