This wins for most pointless hack of the month. Good day sir! Seriously, think about what the Pokemon games are about. It's not "lololol I just got my 167th lugia, celebi, and ho-oh lol this is boring", it's "Wait what this pokemon is one of a kind I MUST NOT MISS IT". There's also some sort of storyline that makes sense. Sure, you can stick some scripted battle with a lowlevel Ho-oh somewhere, but don't just sprinkle Pokemon like they're salt. Also, what the heck kind of file is a .bak file? That's a BACKUP file and is not the patch for the ROM. You may want to read up on making IPS patches.\\ There are so many things wrong with this thread and the hack itself that I can not even begin to comprehend them. ____________________ we're currently experiencing some technical difficulties |

Everything I hate about Pokemon hacks, rolled up into one.
Way to go, don't quit your day job. Posted by phildhxr Nobody gives a fuck if its the first "alpha test". That is the oldest excuse in the book. Alpha's/Betas are supposed to show people what the final product will be like. Of course people use the "OMFG ITS JUST BETA" excuse too much, because they don't want people to know that they actually CAN'T add what they want to the game. I work alone too, ever heard of Pokemon Brown or Pokemon Prism? The quality of the hack shouldn't suffer if you are "working alone". Just TRY to make a good hack, I tried with Brown, it has flaws of course, but the thing is I TRIED really hard, and it shows. This "hack" you made, was not trying. Your brother loves the hack because he just learned the concept of hacking into games. Hell I liked some of the "M Rated Pokemon Hacks" when I was 12, because I just learned that you can hack into something. Oh whoopie do, you can change wild Pokemon data because theres a program that somebody else made that can do that for you! Try to do something NEW. Also, don't yell at people if they're trying to help you, they're trying to help you make your hack not totally suck. So, if you want to make a good hack, first delete this "hack" from your hard drive, start over, and try to think about WHY people play Pokemon Games. Also, try to add something new to the hack that hasn't been done before. Why play a hack with the same features and maps when you can just play the original version? BTW, if you're going to add "humor", don't add shit like making NPC's saying juvenile shit like "SUCK MY DICK I'M GAY" or "OH GOD I'M SO HIGH." Cut the guys some slack guys jeez. Instead of berating him with insults, suggest some improvements or new ideas he should try out. Maybe he did *break* some arbitrary board rules by posting in release forum, but c'mon. No need to get super negative.
phildhxr, I hope you don't get discouraged by this. Keep doing what your doing on your poke hack. You may want to complete more work before you release any playable demos, but this is by NO MEANS the worst poke hack ever. Thew only real problem I have with your changes are the somewhat immature dialog choices. Like Koolboyman mentioned, its just not funny, nor necessary. |
