of course it wasn't as good as the book. Movies never are as good as the book (or video game for that matter).

However as for the series of movies I thought it was just as good if not better than the previous 4.

I did enjoy a more extensive use of spells this time.

Yeah I went to the midnight showing too. Meant I would get about 3 hours sleep for work but it was worth it!

Order of the Phoenix is my favorite Harry Potter book so far, so obviously i think the book is better than the movie, but the movie itself was kick ass. Parts of it felt a little rushed, but someone who's never read the books wouldn't even be able to tell. The fight scenes were what I was most looking forward too and they did not disappoint. The whole thing was amazingly done. I'm not sure if this is my favorite movie now or 4 though.

It did seem a little weird to me at the end though since in the book harry is obviously horribly grief stricken and even goes around destroying dumbledores office to vent rage, where in the movie its almost like hes completely over it as soon as they get back. Obviously it would have taken way too much time to show all of that and everything, but it still just stuck me a little as "okay, he grieved for two seconds, time to forget about it"

They could not have picked a better person for Umbridge though! I didn't hate her quite as much as I remember hating her in the book, but ooh I hated her enough! And that laugh of hers has to be the most irritating thing ever.

Hey, remember the comment I made about making actually contentful posts?

That wasn't one of them.

Keep it up and I'll ban you again for a week.

It's my second fave film after PoA, Luna and Umbridge were spot on, and the final battle in the DoM is amazing.

Loved Fred and george too, and the Trio seem to be getting better at acting all the time...

Michael Gambon PWNS Richard Harris. Gambon is hardcore, the way he fought Voldy. Though the line, "Don't you all have some studying to do!?" was disappointing.

Actually, Harris was one of the greatest actors of all time, and was fully believable in the role. He was Dumbledore.

Whenever I see michael gambon, I just think 'oh, hey - it's Michael Gambon!'.

Could you actually see Harris doing the battle seen, he always looked like he was dying, because he was. Gambon is strong, fast, and just plain powerful. Though he is sometimes too angry, he is almost perfect.

I loved the movie, it was just amazing.

I am disappointed, I wanted to see Fred and George make that big old swamp

Luna was totally the cutest. The movie was kind of sloppy and I'm sure you who have read the book noticed there's a lot missing.
Spoiler:
How were Hermione and Ron able to ride on the thestrals? Weren't they not able to see them? And the opening broom ride across London really got me riled up.

Of course there is a lot missing! They had to turn a 800 page book into a 2 1/2 hour movie, and this was my favorite movie yet. The only problem I had was after Trelawny got sacked, Dumbledore said, "Don't you all have some studying to do!" I really wanted to hit him. But still, Gambon rocked. Gary Oldman is the best Sirius ever. That line, "Good job James!" right before he died was so sad. There was to much R.A.B. foreshadowing in the movie though, they kept doing close-ups of Arturus on the Black Family Tree. In the words of Ben Schoen, "It doesn't matter how awesome the movie was, any fan will say it is to short." He is right, I did think it was short.

I agree, but I don't think being slow is a bad thing. It was a very good thing really. Have you guys heard that Quidditch is back next movie? And Luna will announce too! This is probably because HBP is shorter, so they can fit more into it.
