I love to play Sid Meier's Civilization series, my favorite in that series is Civ 3

It's one of the games that pioneered the turn-based strategy genre, and is still great today.

I usually play as either the Japanese or the Germans in Civ 3 xd

So, does anyone else here play Civilization?

I play Alpha Centauri over the tubes versus Ailure sometimes, and (even more rarely these days) c-evo.
The latter is a quite awesome open-source Civilization 2 clone/look-alike (a good number of the game mechanics are changed for the better). I also helped port the AI interface/stub to C++ in like 2001, so my view on it is biased.

I mostly play Alpha centauri and Civilization IV. Civilization is easily the best Civilization game out of the series, while Alpha centauri is the best Civ type game I played. I even considering making a clone of it once, or as a Civ IV mod heh.

alpha centurai is defenitely the greatest civ game I've ever played.

seriously, if there was ever a civ game that should've been named "awesome" it is AC.

Haven't played Alpha Cantauri. I have played Civilization 1, 2, and 3 (and 4 a few times but I never owned it). Of those, Civ 3 is my favourite. I think it's a lot more balanced than Civ 2.

I'll play any civ except the Americans.

I've never played or owned Alpha Centauri or Civ 4, but I would like to get Alpha Centauri if I can find it...

The civilization series is the best. I'm currently playing with a really simple mod on Civ IV, called Better AI. It basically makes the AI a bit smarter about all of it's decisions.

Civ IV is great, and the malleability of the mod engine makes it even greater. I love it.

I play Civ 4 often enough, either with some friends back home or a few people up here (where here is at school, in the dorms and surrounding area). Very fun.

I happen to play as the Americans in it. Roosevelt, specifically. I like what Industrious does.

I have Civilization IV laying around (it was a present), but have never gotten around to installing it. This thread makes me want to try it out, though... Maybe I will.

I have Civilization 3, it's a great game, even though I'm terrible at it... I once had a massive civilization with many cities, and got crushed by the Zulus somehow despite them having one city...

Alpha Centauri was definitely my favorite. I think I actually have an extra copy laying around somewhere...

I haven't really played Civ 4. Maybe I'll get around to checking it out eventually.

I played Call to Power way too much for my own good.

It's just so much fun to be able to bomb people from OUTER SPACE.

Everything is better in OUTER SPACE.

OUTER SPACE is similar to laser disks in this respect.
