His limbs are incredibly disproportionate to his body. Especially the legs, which are just way too long for the rest of him. The hair is also wrong, and this is somewhat inexcusable as to get it right you would need only look at your own user icon. It looks entirely too much like a crappy drawing of a human. I mean what you have done here is about as off model as you can possibly get.

Off the subject of Lemmy himself, the grass is in a completely different style and looks really out of place here.

Now translating Alastor's post...

A good idea would be to make his limbs in the proper proportion to the rest of his body, as right now they appear to be too long to achieve that Koopa feel that your avatar seems to have. I look in particular at the legs, which could be shortened and made stubbier -- in fact, if they were to look that way, you might actually achieve a pitiable form, one that has a reason to be sad (he's just too darn short). The hair colors are also mixed up. If you wanna change them, you can just take a look at your avatar, and match it up to those colors. It shouldn't be too hard. I advise you to just make him look a bit less like a human, and more like a Koopa. When you do that, you should have a great drawing on your hands.

Also, I can't help but notice the grass looks a little out of place. You could try erasing it and redrawing it in the same lined style as the rest of the picture, and then the attention would be more on Lemmy than on the background, which is, I assume, your goal. Good luck!

you're doing it wrong.

When people go out of their way to critique you're artwork its not because they hate you its because it sucks and they're telling you exactly what you can do to make it better. Making excuses is telling them you don't really give a shit what they think. "I did it in my own style" is probably the most overused excuse I've ever heard.

No joke, this is probably the first serious digitally drawn thing I've ever done.

I'm not that good with drawing but I can do thing a little better than what mediocre people in your school do in art class (if you still have them in your highschool.)
