Jesus Christ.
This is embarrassing. I was like... 13, 14 at the time. Goddammit.

'm okay at reworking object and sprite graphics to an NES-looking style. I'm pretty decent at basic overworld changes. I'm great at creative level designs. I have no idea how the hell I do ASM hacks and such. You should see how good I am at overworld events. I'm not kidding; I horribly suck at it, and when I do try to change events, chances are that I'll screw up the whole game.

So basically, I'm a decent level editor, but a horrible hacker.

Original post can be seen here.

See the part about creative level designs? Yeah, I overestimated myself/exaggerated. My levels had many things people (including myself) hate. At that time, I thought I was "creative"...

Oh, and I used to think that Xk was female during my first couple of weeks there.

Mm, beautiful, isn't it? And the following posts - pure art.

Ignore the fact that it says Jack-Al posted those, that's due to a bug that deleted a number of users and put their posts under newer accounts that ended up with the same ID number. The signatures should make it clear enough who was really behind which post (though I'm not really sure being associated with those posts is a good thing).

I was fresh out of college and trying to figure out how to find level data in The Addams Family (SNES).

I wound up running the ROM through a disassembler to find out where the actual ASM was. Then I corrupted various data-containing segments of the ROM and loaded it in ZSNES, hoping I'd break something recognizable. I found some subsequent sets of bytes that held pointers to the first few doors. And then I had no bleeping clue what the bytes thereafter did, and that was all I ever accomplished. I didn't have any way to run the ROM through a debugger, and the learning curve of SNES ASM seemed like a vertical wall of broken glass. I passed the one ASM course I had to take for my computer science degree, but meh. Extremely low-level programming is not my forte.
