I play console games either 2x (size, not 2xSai) or fullscreen, portables, just 2x size. Sometimes I screw around with filters just to see how they look, but when I'm actually playing a game, I prefer them off. ____________________ There are things I want to put here. Like a cool picture, my 8-bit theatre character test result, my MS and RO characters... But it's 12 AM, and I'm sleepy. |

I don't use filters on the SNES because I need to be able to take exact screens for mapping. It is 2x the normal size, but easy to resize in Paint. I don't really worry about filters on GBA since VBA has a screenshot and map viewer thing built in, but I still like to be able to see the pixels, which is also why it is 3x the normal size. |

I LOVE using hq3x or hq4x. Probably the best looking filters I've found yet. But... Those two need tons of processing power. So I mainly use them for SNES, as I insist on having emus run full speed whenever possible.
The most demanding 2D game I've ever seen when it comes to emulators, is F-Zero Climax. Just about any filter bogs down that one fast. CKY-2K: The last official FCEU has filters, it's spin-offs like XD SP don't aside from the one provided by most PC graphics cards that I can tell. ____________________ |

Kega - HQ2X with 25% scanlines
Snes9x - HQ2XBold zSNES - NTSC filter Magic Engine - 50% scanlines VisualBoyAdvance - HQ2X or Super2xSAI I like pixels, but filters combined with scanlines are just as good. I use a 2x filter occasionally... ____________________ Love your lawn. |

Occasionally I'll use hq2x for Link's Awakening.
And though not technically a screen filter, I always use hires mode7 in ZSNES. But other than that, they look ugly and I hate them. |

There was a NES emulator with an NTSC TV filter.
Anyone know what it's called? ____________________ |

I don't know if this is the same emu you're thinking of, but I know Nestopia has it. ____________________ There are things I want to put here. Like a cool picture, my 8-bit theatre character test result, my MS and RO characters... But it's 12 AM, and I'm sleepy. |

With SNES/MD emulation, I don't use filters, but I mainly up the screen size to 2x or 3x.
With GBA emulation (in VBA), I up the screen size to 2x, and use Super 2xSai or something to that effect. Too lazy right now to confirm. With Nintendo 64 emulation, I either play in 320x240 with no filter, or in fullscreen with no filter. |
