I for one don't. I wanna be able to see the pixels. No RF interference, no 2xSai or whatever it's called. No motion blur either. Just full screen on consoles and 2x for handhelds.

What about you?

Also, scaled/filtered screenshots are bad imho.

I sometimes use scanlines at 25%, but other than that I rarely use them except to see what a tileset looks like under different filters.

I hate them, I use the same thing as you Kawa. 2x or 3x for handheld (VBA I use Pixelate mode) and I need to be able to see the pixels on other emulators too.

I just use HQ3x. I can't stand scanlines, however.

I like SuperEagle (especially when actually playing rather than just testing something), though recently, I have found myself using normalx2 often enough...

I find that using filters is easier on the eyes. 100% authenticity is not really important to me when playing games for fun..hell even while testing my own games.

I can understand people not liking uploaded screenshots with filters turned on though.

The only filters I'll use is 25% Scanlines in ZSNES or Bilinear Filtering to make it to where it doesn't look so blocky when you stretch a GBA image. It looks generally better than the original.

Otherwise, I'll not use filters. Eagle looks like crap, IMO.

When applicable, I use raw pixels.

However, some emulators (like VBA) will do a stretch, and the stretch is kinda interpolated. It's still the individual pixels, but they're kinda blurred among each other. It's just the default directdraw stretch. Like, I'd have to use a 2xscale filter to get the pixels back.

I don't use supereagle or 2xsai or whatever, because that tends to make things look really ugly to me.

Edit: I also tend not to stretch any bigger than 2x, because it's easier on me to not have to move my eyes so far when I'm looking around the screen.

I use GDI rendering and it stretches without interpolation. In fact, DDraw is the only one that interpolates.

OpenGL, Super 2x Sai, HQ 4x, Bilinear Filtering. I basically use anything I can to make it look good on my massive monitors.

The only filter I ever use is NTSC filters.

maybe 25%scanlines + a generic filter (interpolation, whatever).

usually nothing, though. Filters 90% of the time ruin games.

Theres another simple solution. Turn the filter on to Pixelate and it doesn't interpolate.

Pixelate looks like shit, though. I enjoy emulating stuff to get AWAY from terribly low pixel densities.

I tend towards using "AdvanceMAME Scale2x" on GBA, hq2x on SNES, and (Super?) 2xSAI on Genesis. I prefer not to see the original pixels in most cases, except when ripping sprites.

Super Eagle tends to cause problems with small graphics, particularly noticeable on fonts.

The only filter I usually use is interpolation on ZSNES. I like to feel like I'm playing on a real SNES, dunno why, just do.

Tho I try and test my hacks under all filters.

I leave filters off for pretty much everything. The only thing they do for me is annoy me.

NES: Nothing

SNES: 25% scanlines + interpolation or NTSC depending on version

GBx: 3-4x motion blur, TV mode

I feel alone

Sometimes I play with filter for novelty, but 99% of the time I play without, because I hate how it looks. :/
