Wow. How anyone could ever confuse something this terrible with a 1st-party prototype is beyond me...

Regardless, if you need more proof, the three-eyed "sun" in the ending sequence is the logo for whatever company made this atrocity, and appears in several other equally atrocious games (many of which contain a secret code that will display a full-screen version of it).

Not only that, but proof that it isn't a prototype is the "COPYRIGHT 1995" after the title intro...
Most NES pirate games lack coyright. And it dosen't say who it is copyrighted to... making it a kinda pointless copyright. xD

Uh... It has been distributed for over a year... Like I said, finding the full version is old news.

I was more referring to the year.

I might talk to the people behind MMVen to see if they might finish up the demo for public release; last I checked, most of the demo was done. Would be kind of cool to see that finally get released.

Yeah, you may want to see a doctor about that.

"Q. How do you decide when to make another Mario game?
A. After we finish a Mario game, the staff usually vows never to do another one! But once the game is released, we start thinking it may not be such a bad idea to add another title to the series. We usually have lots of ideas that we haven't been able to implement yet. A good example is Yoshi the dinosaur who just appeared in Super Mario World. We wanted to have Mario ride a dinosaur ever since we finished the original Super Mario Bros., but it was impossible technically. We were finally able to get Yoshi off the drawing boards with the Super NES."
- Shigeru Miyamoto, in the interview in Mario Mania, the SMW strategy guide

Given that, the pirate game is impressive if for nothing else but the fact that they accomplished adding Yoshi to the game.

They couldn't of had Yoshi with the power of the mappers back then, but later I guess they were good enough... that or this game has Yoshi but doesn't work him too well. T_T

There's no way the cpu held back yoshi from being on the NES. I'd guess it would be the sprite limits that mappers can't work their way around. It's 8 on a line before the NES starting dropping them or the game used flickering to get around that. SNES has 34 (?) per line in comparison before they're dropped from display. Gradius 3 is the only game I can think of that pushed past that limit.

You only need an enemy or two to see the artifacts.

One of the Ranma 1/2 fighting games for SNES goes over the number of tiles per scanline limit at times. As for Yoshi not being possible on the NES, I honestly think it wouldn't be that hard to add Yoshi. The only problem is obviously that it makes undesireable effects more likely happen, such as sprite flickering and too many sprites per scanline. That may have been seen as a problem by Nintendo, although it's really something I would simply expect from an NES game. *shrugs*

There's a glitch were you can keep duplicating crap in yoshi's mouth till the game overloads or something and freezes.

I was always impressed that pirates could do this... and in 1995 nonetheless. Guarantee you though that someone like DahrkDaiz could make a better port of SMW off of the SMB3 engine....

A) You've obviously misinterpreted what he means.
B) This is a 3-month bump.
