Police found a bomb and several gas cylinders in a car in london at 2 am. Apparently it would've caused "carnage", but as far as I know they don't even know if it would have detonated.

Damn.. I'm glad I don't live that close to london.. Even if it is like two or three hours away.

I just live in a crappy area where there's drug trading car gangs, and vandals.. I live in a crap town. I think drugs and vandalism are the main problems here. XD

Why is carnage in quotes? To cause ambiguity between the dictionary definition of carnage, and the spider-man villain, Carnage?

No, I'm guessing they mean that it could have been utter CARNAGE! (as in, if a whole load of people were in the surrounding area).

Or it could have been like, carnage. If fewer people were in the area.
