I have a problem - I open a level, and it's fine, but when I return to the level from any pipe there's a bunch of garbaled GFX at the bottom. I know I've been told how to fix this in the past but I don't remember. Like, the background gets all messed up, being cut off into pale blue animated tiles. Eh...

Welcome to the forum This is a common problem with first-time hackers. Not saying you're a n00b, just that you're learning the ropes of LM.

What you've got here is a bad BG Init position. It's either too high or too low, so "animated tile garbage" (really just tile data inserted by the game) shows up onscreen.

Source: LM Help File (newbs try to read it, n00bs don't )

Is the pipe high, low, or in the middle of the screen? Check the BG Init position and try to eyeball the four options into quarters of the screen. Match the pipe entrance to that particular "quarter". If you're close enough, it should look fine.

I guess my motto is "Educate the newbs, and eradicate the n00bs". Or send them off to raise hell on ||board or SMWcentral instead

Actually, I've been hacking SMW for like, five years. I keep forgetting why this happens, is all. I'm no newb...thanks, though. I'll fix it.
