I thought this would make a good post for Computing. Basically post about weird things or bugs you've come across in software that made you go "This is stupid".

You know the Software Developer is an idiot when...

They put the unlock code into the executable file in plain text format that can be found easily with a Hex Editor. XD

Hello AVG meet YY-CHR

...when they put "preferences" in the edit menu... just a beef with this FF that came with ubuntu, I recall "preferences/settings"etc under tools or settings or something in everything else.

standards man

..when they test their website only with IE6

..when they think their text-interface blackjack game is fucking awesome and then you show them your graphical picross game (lol school nerd bragging rights)

Or when some software developers think they made a -BIG HIT- with customers after v6.0 they go on to make v7.0. they copy old coding with new coding adding features which will make any fast p4 or amd 64 lock up or fuck up making you go into a full blooded rage...... some 7.0 software that came out AOL 7 nero 7.0 after a stable version of premium winavi 7.2- 7.9 which is really fucked up, Windows Vista (7) currently has its a fair share of problems, DW MX 2004 (7.0) gets unstable with AV running in the background or after a month forgets you have a paid copy and makes you reregister again, and roxio 7.0 iolo v 7.0 and ZoneAlarm Pro 7.0 which both of them constantly lock up the CPU at %100.

When the program clearly hasn't even been tested (big impossible to miss fuckups on the interface, important functionality missing, etc).

BooUrns, what state is that map from? I ask because there is a John Bryan State Park here in Ohio. It's actually pretty close to Springfield, too...

You are correct! It is from Ohio, we were going to visit some random relatives that I don't know. Ugh.

But it was rather amusing to see the time remaining slowly drop to 0, and then begin going into the negatives.

I find it just as annoying when they really overcomment, as in:

int main() // The main function which returns an int
{ // This starts the main function
    printf("hello world"); // Prints the words hello world
    return 0; // Returns 0
} // This ends the main function
