With the anomymization of the board, this place has degraded worse than ||board.
I always thought it was that other place that was trying to rip off 4chan, not this one. And if there's any post that will result in a ban, it'll be this one 
Edit: I've changed my mind. There is no way in hell anything can rival the crappiness which is ||board. Nothing can justify such suckiness, not even Doom music. Edit #2: I made this post specifically after reading the "Link is gay because he has two earrings" thread. ____________________ |

How can you be so sure? Nobody has run over here and begun whining about ||board yet, nor do we continue sitting here and going "||board sucks, ||board sucks, ||board sucks" as if that's gonna make us better.
The truth is, usually what you say as an insult to others is actually trying to take a quality of yourself and giving it to somebody you dislike. So then... it appears you believe your actions are worse than that of the members of ||board. Well, that isn't this place's fault, or ||board's. :p Besides, drama is pointless. All it does is injure people's feelings; nothing good is accomplished by going "Oh noes this is better than that." |

you know what i always found funny is how people look at japan as some safe haven with a blessed culture and incredible society, then you hear the same people talk about how low and despicable 4chan is.
nevermind that the idea of it came from 2chan, THE japanese website. i've met people from all over the world online but 0 of them live in japan. some japanese people are so isolationist that they only post on 2chan, i guess. |

Japanese people are out there; you just won't find them posting so often when you have Western-style insultfest boards and such. I'm not going to assume anything about them as a whole though; you can't peg it exactly to race or culture.
I'm thinking it's a language barrier, as I don't know many people who speak English who also frequent purely Japanese boards. |

Interesting. So 4chan isn't a clone of 2ch. Then again, I heard 2ch is far more enlightened than 4chan, so it'd make sense.
It's sort of a shame places like 4chan exist, really. There's good stuff to be found on the web, but people like to look only at the bad places. Back in 1999, there were far fewer such places... It would be nice if one could build a wall and have a specific .com-style ending that they could control, so as to allow an older-style web to exist walled off from today's dumb-meme propagation gibberish. |

2ch has MANY more discussion forums than 4chan will ever half. 4chan has forums for very few specific topics... and then the random one that everyone associates it with for getting about 80% of its posts. |

Yeah, I've seen a lot of comments about "OH WOW ||BOARD IS BETTER IN COMPARISON TO THIS" because of the experiment, but you know what?
This is an EXPERIMENT. At first, I thought everyone would have to change attitudes, and have to read the posts for the post, and not for who made the post, but that OBVIOUSLY isn't the case here. Instead, we got a result that was different than expected. That's why this is an experiment! Things will go back to normal in a while, this isn't a permanent change. The result of this was a bunch of people acting like a bunch of dumbasses, and once the board goes back to normal, we'll get to see exactly which users the excessive dumbassery is coming from. It's an experiment. That's the most important thing here. I think a lot of us will be surprised about the results.  ____________________  |
