Well, that's what it says.
It's for the DS, and It's going to be made by BioWare.
Discuss.

That... uh, I dunno. Its a bit iffy to me. Sure a Sonic RPG sounds good but if it is anything like the recent Sonic games we were given it isn't going to be as great as it should.

Either way, I've never been a huge fan of BioWare's RPGs. I just couldn't stay hooked on them long enough to get anywhere.

I assume... that Sonic Adventure was not close enough to an RPG?

I saw that on IGN yesterday. It might be good but ever since Sonic And The Secret Rings I always take caution before buying a sonic game.

Excuse me? You should have took caution once Heroes came out. Everything after that along with that wasn't good at all. Not counting Rush and the Advance ones...

Sonic and the Secret Rings was good, it was fun, it was neat, and it provided replay that didn't suck. AND it actually gave a challenge! Sure there were translation errors out the ass as you can see in my profile and sure the music sucked on some levels, but the game itself was a very nice premise and was executed great. There were some glitches I won't lie, but at least the silly camera has been fixed with the rails system.

Elaborate. Last time I checked, RPGs allow you free movement on a overworld map which Sonic Adventure allowed. Although I did not say SA was one, it had at least one RPG characteristic which was my point.

...Thats like saying Crash Bandicoot is an RPG. You get items in that to level up your powers.

Prediction:

Bioware will create a technically impressive game that lots of people love despite introducing a few characters that nobody has ever even heard of. It will be a huge seller despite being only slightly better than normal RPG nonsense.

Significantly later, some other company that nobody has ever even heard of will make a new Sonic RPG series based on a completely ridiculous gimmick. This game and its sequels will be, completely against anything anyone had expected, absolutely fantastic, and way better than the original Sonic RPG.

Bioware and RPG fans will be pretentious snots and dislike the original Sonic RPG until the good ones come out, and will then say the original was much better.

Do you really think the first game didn't have free roaming on a map?
This anonymous thing going on is pretty lame. It only will cause people to act stupid.

"Free roaming on an overworld map" was also shared by Mario 64. Was it an RPG?

I'll be optimistic about this, not like it can hurt.

No-one said just a single element makes something into an RPG. The point was that Sonic Adventure (as well as Mario 64) has a element such as free roaming that is common in RPGs. That doesn't make them a RPG though. Just to have a similarity to one.

Running around to pick levels has been done in so many games you are nuts. That doesn't make anything an RPG.

Crash Bandicoot had free roaming to pick levels, Mario 64, Grand Theft Auto, Crash Team Racing, Super Magnetic Neo (Awesome game, I own this. It's for Dreamcast, so you could download it if you want), and many more.

Did you even read my last post?
And because I explained everything I needed there, I am not continuing this.

Super Magnetic Neo was a good and challenging game.

2 new games in progress.

Sonic RPG: A series gone down the tubes that has been taken upon by a VERY good company

Contra IV: A great series but has been taken upon by a very shitty game company.

Hopefully these games come out good. I'm looking forward to both.
