This is one of those times I'm really, really glad I can disable Vision.
Because holy crap.

Disable vision? But if you're talking about school I would have to agree.

I assume Vision is some kind of program that allows teachers or whatever to see what you're doing on the computer?

My high school was too low-tech for that, the library staff would just walk around the computers.

lol blank cell
Those type of programs suck. It seems a lot worse than Websense, which is all we have at our school. All you really need is creative thinking though and you can bypass any sort of these crap filters.

You're lucky. Boring > Dangerous

Let's just say those Sulfuric Acid bottles to the left of my seat in Chemistry aren't for show. O_o

Wouldn't your teachers get suspicious if Vision is closed?

Three hours? Must be a complete bore...

My school had a program that just put a big fucking lock on the screen if a teacher thought you were goofing off.

It was so dumb.

Yeah, they can watch everything... all you had to do before was kill the process, and these days it's just open services.msc and kill the service

It's actually rather easy to get around, and no one really seems to care... I mostly hate the "demo" and "lock" features, since they remove all access to the machine.

My ex-high school (I'm glad I'm in college now) used websense. The way we got around it is we kept typing the url into the address bar over and over and eventually it let us through.

One of my teachers had the projector on, so we could see her screen, and the monitoring software was displayed. All of the computers have both firefox and IE on them... so WHY do people still use IE?!?!? People were using IE to browse MYSPACES!! In fact, people do that using their laptops and the school's wlan during other classes. Ugh. Why myspace? That site sucks on so many levels. Facebook is 10000x better!

For a while when I was at secondary school, they installed a program that limited access to things ... people just booted into safe mode and removed it from there (that was like 8 years ago with computers that ran Windows 95)

I bet someone smart enough would still find a way to disable the newer crap, either by renaming/deleting files, editing the registry or using safe mode ... unless they also locked disk access and such

Here, DeepFreeze auto-restores a image every time the computer reboots...

They have that at my school too. But what I *really* hate is NetSentron. I wish I knew how to disable it, it's incredibly annoying when over half the internet is blocked.

Seriously, it is.

I'm not sure what we have, but it's the same here. Everything except Temp Save (T gets reset after a reboot.
