I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and noticed that it was out. I came home and did some research on it before I buy it and it seems like it may of been a good idea. IGN said that you can't watch youtube videos on it which I really would of like to do. Is it worth $40can to buy it or should I save it for something else?

I was thinking of buying it myself, it would be good on the go, but if you have a Wii I would save it for something else.

From what I hear it sucks and you're better off getting a slot-2 flash card with RAM expansion and using DSLinux.

There's an easy way to figure this out:

Will you be browsing with your DS often, when not at home?

If no, why buy it? If yes, then you have a use for it.

(I say "not browsing at home", because seirously -- the only reason for internet browsing on a DS at home is epenis lol.)

Or when your computer is overheating (had to do this with my PSP, once)

If your computer is overheating, you have better things to spend the money on.

Of course, my comment was meant to show uses of browsing on an handheld consoles and the like, not just about buying the DS Browser (honestly, $40 for a browser).

Anyway, don't want to go too away from the topic.

I know what you meant, however.. I'm merely reaffirming Xkeeper's point, if you have the money to buy the browser but don't go out very often.. the money would probably be better spent on something else. As such your example really didn't refute his point, as if your computer is overheating you would probably be better spending the money on something to keep your computer cooler instead.

Kinda pointless for me. The Wii and PSP browsers were free, and my only home wifi access point happens to be right next to the PC/Wii anyway.

Or your computer is busy (video encoding, someone else using it, broken, etc) or you're on the can or you just want to look up something during a conversation and happen to have the DS in your pocket.

Well that is part of the problem. I'm going on a trip this summer and was thinking the browser might be useful. The problem is that I don't know how many places I go to during this trip will have hot spots . I probably won't end up getting and just wait for an actual game to come out.

Does it even work yet?

I got M3.

I heard the DS Organizer has freakin IRC chat!
and an internet browser.

I have them on my DS but my goddom router is being stupid. Does it even work though right now?

DSLinux, yes, but it's a bit of a PITA. You need the extra RAM to actually do anything. DSOrganize has a browser and IRC, but both are fairly lacking in features. The browser doesn't have a way to save files, view images, etc, and the IRC client doesn't log.

Either way it kicks ass.
I'd love to be chatting on PureZC chat with my DS.

Do any of them support sound playing?

Shit.

I meant during browsing.
