It finally came in yesterday and my friend installed it over the course of three hours (Six small wires and the chip is about the size of your pinkie nail! Also, the solder pads are lolsmall) and it works like a charm!
Runs GC homebrew, GC backups, region override, and of course Wii Backup action! HI-TECHNIAAAAAAAAAL! No issues so far, my friend clocked 15+ hours of backups into it (Excite Truck for just about all of it) and not one DRE/slowdown/anything. Also, I haven't gotten to test all of the emulator support, but Snes9X GX comes with the WiiKey and it runs amazing. Here's a video: GOOGLE VIDEO LAWL Also I can increase the Wii's read speed apparently with the WiiKey config disc, 3x and 6x are the choices (currently on 3x). Fun stuff, but as HyperHacker has said in IRC, no Wii Mod Chip runs Wii homebrew yet, so until one does, it's advised you stay away unless you just want to run backups (like me). Also, as far as I know, the Wii doesn't like DVD-RWs so good luck with those emulators man. New update? NEW CD  Moar ROMs? NEW CD ____________________ I miss post headers more. |

Skypeing with Xkeeper the other night led to him saying WiiWiiKey and laughing hysterically about it. Also youtube won't let me upload for some reason, it hangs at connecting in the uploader. ____________________ I miss post headers more. |

Youtube has some major problems going on... for example, I can't download any videos from any of the "lax" servers.
But yeah, good job getting that WiiKey to work. And I think Xk's responsible for "WiiWiiKey". ____________________  |

Wiinja is actually not that good, the best as of right now is the CycloWiz, but only because WiiKey hasn't provided an update for the gamecube audio fix yet. If you want to get really technical, programming a microcontroller or buying one with OpenWii is supposedly the best way to go, but good luck with it I hear you need to know commands and shit like in Linux. ____________________ I miss post headers more. |
