Also, you better remove that horrible "BEEP BEEP BEEP" sound when hp is "red" (less than 1/4 hp). If you don't I will kill you.

There is a suggestions page on the AcmlmWiki.
That beep gets annoying after a while.. I sometimes wished it'd beep three times to warn you like some other games do.

That's exactly what I was planning to do in my Metroid 2 hack if I ever get around to making a Metroid 2 hack.

Heck yes, I want some.

But, does the "original 151" version include the attacks from at least up to Hoenn, or will it just have the attacks from Pound to Struggle?

Also, when this comes along far enough (I'd suppose once you've got the core battle, overworlds, scripting, and graphic systems down, things are at least slightly easier from there... though that is a lot ), I'd definately look into bringing my rohmack over to OpenPoké.

Which brings me to something else, will existing GBA tools be compatible with this? Not that I expect "right-now" compatibility, but at least, with the proper data offsets, would I be able to load an OpenPoké game in, say, AdvanceMap, or ScriptEd?

"Original 151" is just the monsters. The rest is complete.

So far, going by your list, we have the basic overworld and graphics systems down, scripting needs to be expanded a lot and I just need to add some incidental animations like grass being walked on and the little dust clouds when you hop. Stuff like that, basically.

Existing tools should work. I'm going through hoops to make the data match in format.

I thought for sure I had already posted in this thread...
But yes, this looks awesome and I'd definitely try it out once it's released.

So advance map and elite map and all those other tools will work with it, but will you release any editing tools of your own?

Which reminds me. How is development going?

IIRC... The reason I haven't been hacking Pokemon games lately is because of incomplete features or noticeable bugs in editors by various authors. Last I recall, the map tile layout for Route 22 and 23 aren't supported by Red/Blue programs.

Needless to say, the fact that Ruby alone has at least 5 dumps when you count revisions and different languages, let alone Sapphire/FR/LG/Emerald certainly doesn't make it easier. It's difficult to find the exact ROM most utilities want.

You don't -need- EliteMap (or AM for that matter) to edit OP though. Mostly because -maps- don't quite follow the same format. But you get a much better replacement editor for that.

Changes: attributes are in tileset so map can have the full 16-bit range for tiles

1) Will there be copy/paste ability for map tiles (or multiple selection of tiles on the pallet on the left)?
2) Will it be easier to use than EliteMap?
4) How will text editing work? (or will it not be there at all ?)
5) How will script editing work? Will it be like Rubikon or Scripted or different altogether?
Edit2:
6) Will this new editor work with other pokemon games as well, or just OP?

1) There is an option to grab entire rectangles of map data and paste them later. These can be saved too!
2) Hell yeah!
4 and 5) Integrated script editor (with colorcoding), based on the Jesus engine from my earlier Catnip Dreams project, which was heavily inspired by the Pokémon Advance script engine in the first place. Non-script text is in the source code.
6) Just OP.

So how far along is OP (like, 10% 50% etc)?
Also, will we be able to import maps made in AM/EM to OP? (ex: I make a Route 12 with AM using Pkmn Ruby, will I be able to import it to OP?)

OpenPoké's map editor can import ExMap files from EM. I used this to quickly get a test area up before Darkdata got recruited.

No idea on the progress though.

Recently, I added a prototype grass animation:

It needs to be sorted properly though. Looks like crap when going vertical.

Also, we now have a cursor beep sound in the Sappy soundpack. (load FR in Sappy, note offset, copypaste values to TextPad, edit until mushy)

Wow, great job Kyoufu Kawa. I love this project so far. I'd definitely try it out and edit it once it's released. *raises hand*
