No beta-testing, sorry.

Right now, we got custom hero sprites and maps. A program to rip the original data and graphics can be made.

Can't say I'm the biggest Pokemon fan.. (Haven't played them since the originals on the Gameboy..) But I'm definitely interested in seeing this progress. Looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Play Starfox 64 Then you'll get it.
Techokami should've used quotations

The screens from the General Screenshot Thread make this look like a Nintendo/Game Freak made bonafide Pokemon game Good work.

Hey, I do have to ask though...how difficult would it be to change the Accuracy/Damage system that pokemon uses?

I've got an idea relating to damaging attacks and accuracy (Eg, all attacks hit, accuracy determines the variance of the damage the attack does from it's base 15% randomness, so Zap Cannon with 50% accuracy would vary between 50% x 85% and 100% x 100% damage. Non-damaging attacks just use the acc% as success% like it currently does) that I was planning on hacking into Sapphire, but I was wondering how easy'd it be.

Not too difficult. I'd guess that'd be in battle.c ^^;

Also... say what!?

This is probably a no, but will it be able to connect to D/P?

If it can mimic FR/LG well enough, that's for D/P to decide.

Oh come on, it wouldn't be THAT hard. Rewriting a damage formula's easy.

So, small update today folks.

Darkdata's been being a true role model on mapping lately and is being a real help, even if he messed up on an otherwise sweet waterfall. He did give me a little challenge though. Made a cave with a raised platform made out of the same tiles used in the border and maze walls, with two ladders to get on and off something that would otherwise be solid.

The problem is that the edge tile at the top of said walls and raised platform are directly adjacent to the regular cave floor -and- are supposed to be stood upon. In fact, the left staircase directly ends in such a tile!

My solution? Added a special tile attribute flag and made it so you can't enter such a tile by going south, and can't leave it to the north. I can see a bridge system in that technique.

Thanks Darkdata, for giving me such a nice challenge.

Ehehe. I was thinking along the lines of the level system of the GBA games. Glad that you worked it out though.

Sorry for not being online the last few days Super Paper Mario claimed my soul and held it on till I bet it.

I'd be happy to try it out when it's done, though I don't know if I'd have enough imagination to make anything good with it.

You know Nintendo's going to shut you down if it features any real Pokemon, right? You have to make up your own. (I say this because of the Pikachu pokedex screenshot on the site.)

Boo!

(So I just got back into playing pokemon and I'm already thinking about haxoring it. You should totally finish this before I finish playing Diamond, 'cause then I can haxor it easy-style instead.)

lol netbattle
Honestly, that's all I really had to say, so anything that comes after will detract from the supposed hilarity of the above statement.
Indeed.

Something just occurred to me. In every pokemon game I'm played, the menus are slow like dead slugs.

Will your version have reasonably fast menus?

If so, release now plz?
