And here I thought the movie was gonna be totally ruined with his name attached to it. It actually looks pretty damn good. I must see this movie.

Michael Bay? Who´s that? Spielberg usually make good movies, though. This one looks highly interesting.

I´ll see it aswell.

Michael Bay is well known in the film industry for being a raging asshole.

He also has a reputation for making shitty movies, most notably Pearl Harbor.

But, I never saw Pearl Harbor. And, of all (three) of his movies that I have seen, I thought they were all good.

So, while some people are already writing the movie off due to his reputation, I'm keeping an open mind.

Also, you can see a high-def version of the trailer at transformersmovie.com.
In the words of the internet, I came bricks. Thousands of them.

I'm going to see it with an open mind too, I'm going to pretend its iRobot 2.

As for a Transformers movie, its going to be pure ass.

The theme of Ass: (and no! Its NOT Linkin Park!!!!)

Compare:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fQ5YBcfhwo

And no Soundwave? FUCK you Michael Bay. And Starscream is a freaking sentinal? He looks so retarded its not even funny, while Megatron is apparently the JET in this. Way to get the characters wrong! Now I don't mind Shia, but its definitely apparent that the humans are going to probably be 75% of the focus here.

The animated film made me cry when I was 4-5ish. Since then, I have been a diehard G1 fan and this is nothing but piss drizzling all over something I used to love.

I came diahhrea.

Starscream is an F-22 Raptor stealth aircraft.
Megatron is a Jet because Megatron being a gun was retarded in the cartoon, and would be even more so in a live-action movie.

Soundwave being left out had nothing to do with Michael Bay. He was left out because Don Murphy and the other producers wanted to avoid the use of mass-shifting in the first one, because it would detract from the supposed realism.

Nevertheless, the studio has already greenlit two sequels, and Murphy has stated that he wants to include Soundwave when they figure out how to "do him right".

But, yeah, it's not going to be a faithful adaptation. Just like every other live-action adaptation of everything ever wasn't a faithful adaptation, because 99 times out of 100 faithful live-action adaptations of non live-action things would either be stupid or outright impossible.
It's going to be a good movie. And as live-action Transformers movies can go, it's going to be just fine. Just because it's not going to be the same as a 23-year-old cartoon doesn't mean it won't do the Transformers name justice.

Then again, I liked Beast Wars, so what do I know?

Oh please, the Beast Wars arguement ... its silly. I'm not an ultimate elitist.

Surprise: I loved Beast Wars!

Regardless I know I'm going to hate this and I'm not alone.

Oh god pearl Harbor.

I remember hearing about it back in elementary school about it's historical inaccuracy. Such as the counterattack part... asdfdfdf. That seemed to reek with stupid American nationalism, which I can't really not stand. Which is why I hadn't seen that movie.

However transformers seems to be a quite decent movie. The trailer seemed quite promising, even for someone who wasn't into transformers while growing up (I thought it was stupid as kid >>).

The second theme song is the best of those by far.

And from the little I saw of Transformers when I was little, I liked it. And I liked how Megatron looked aswell.

It would be more fun if they looked like the originals but I won´t bash the movie because they look different. I´m still going to enjoy it.

I think you'll find the new theme is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqqD5OPs7tw here.

I love the original though, MUIST better.

Wonder if "The touch" is in the new film?

Actually megatron WON'T transform at all.

Just to not make the movie border on the line of absolute cheese, I'm hoping scorponok's form is not taken from a scorpion and is some form of experimental army weapon. That would work somewhat.

I have no problem with Optimus having flames. If he was a boring red truck would people not complain?

That video was pimp. If only I had the patience to do something on the scale of awesomeness that could surpass that.

The video's a couple of years old but it still kicks a lot of ass.

And James Rolfe(the angry Video Game Nerd) reviewed the original animated movie.

Movie looks pretty cheesy, but because Transformers (along with Nintendo) practically defined the childhood of me and my brothers and sisters, I must see it.

Just got back. Won't put any spoilers. Well, ok, just a list of the ones that appeared.

I recommend you all go and watch this. Now. Definitely the best movie I've seen this year. That tops everything from Spiderman 3 to 300.

I mean DAMN! that's a good movie

There was such a good mix of humor, action, drama, and mystery. It's like a super-movie. Everything packed into one (2 and a half hours of it!).

Spoiler:
List of Transformers to appear:

Autobots:
Optimus Prime
Bumblebee
Ratchet
Ironhide
Jazz

Deceptacons:
Megatron
Starscream
Devastator
Blackout
Barricade
Bonecrusher

Deceptacon Mini-Cons:
Freny
Scorponok

... That first one is from the '06 Digipen Halloween Contest...

I'm rather annoyed they didn't show the part where he started faux shooting with the cannon, as that was the best part of the presentation.

The last time I went to the movies was back in 2004, after seeing the movie with my cousin last night, I loved it! I really digged the fights scenes and the quotes from the old 80's cartoon. This movie delivered, and I'd go see it again.
