Think of it this way, Xk. It's easier to spot a terrible layout than a terrible sig, and if someone's dumb enough to make an unreadable layout, you'll know in advance who you'll have to ban next, giving you a few extra days to come up with a witty title before they really fuck up.

Honestly, I don't care either way. What annoys me is in-betweens, though. If we're gonna have them, have them; otherwise, don't.

It doesn't do anybody any good to talk about maturity or stuff. You well know somebody will screw it up; it's just a question of whether that can be cleaned up every time it happens, like Board3.

Myself, I feel layouts for all would be fine, as long as there was a way to disallow it to people who abuse it, and the same possibility with sigs, etc.
