I get to take my drivers test tomorrow. If I pass I get my permit. I can’t wait.

Does anyone have their permit or licenses already?

Don't have it, don't plan to get it. I'm kinda the exception though. I ride my bike and take the bus, and walk if it's within 2 km or so.

I'm too young to start taking classes for driving. I really hope that I can start soon or I will lose interest in driving.

I've got my license nearly a year ago. The only thing I can't do well at all when driving is parallel parking.

I have my driver's licence, but I don't drive at all. I usually ride my bicycle or take the bus, or walk if it's within 3 or so km.

I'm studying for my learners.. alot of people are saying to me that steering and braking are hard to get... I still think that manual transmission and parallel parking must be harder though

I'm going to try to get my permit next year... Since I'll be 16 and all.

And I'm going to dread every moment of it.

Had it for a few years.

It's convenient to have a license at times, I guess, but it's not really that exciting (at least for me).

Had mine for almost seven years.

It's more of a liability than a blessing unless you're rich. :\

Had mine for several years now.

It's a liability AND a blessing, in my opinion.

Yeah, I've had my license for... several years now.

Things like this, and the occasional photo album, are always a shock for me to realize just how young people on the internet tend to be.

Not that it's a bad thing, mind you.

Being blind in my right eye means that driving will not be easy, if I can even get my license.

I'll stick with a bike or public transportation; even if I could drive, I don't think I'd want to.

You aren't missing much when gas prices are climbing. If I could get away with biking, I probably would. I did for a while but it wore me the fsck out biking up and down hills to get to work one way. Looked kind of embarrassing getting all dressed just to look like shit in front of customers at RS for the first five minutes.

If there was a faster, more reliable, and less expensive alternative to cars, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

but for me its pretty much a necessity.

I've had it for three/four years, now, and for someone that was scared to get it at frist, I don't regret the decision one bit.

Could you bike in normal clothes and then change there? I've done that the few times I had to dress up.

I've had my license for a little over two years now. I really enjoy driving, I find it relaxing and incredibly independent. The permit test isn't too difficult, just flip through the little booklet for the bizarre questions they might ask (for example, I was asked about the laws regarding trolleys, but there are no trolleys anywhere near where I live).
Good luck!

My parents promised I'll get my license this summer (hell, I could get it now).

But I'm grounded basically. Yeah, 2 B's reeeeeeally sucks on a report card.

Your parents consider B's bad? Sheesh.

My dad was like that. When I got a very high B (an 89%) in one subject on a progress report (not even the real report card) in 5th grade, he thought it was the end of the world.
