Not a chiptune blob-thingie this time, sorry.
Instead, I bring you Lear the Pear. An experiment with shape tweens and the fearsome filter, Blur.
If you don't see it, you have a Flash player that's below 8. Go to http://www.adobe.com to get the newest one, Adobe Flash Player 9.

Nonetheless:

The bottom animates oddly and I really don't like the blurry shadow, but past that, it seems kind of unsmooth overall (but that might just be lag)

Hey you're right.
Now that I look at his bottom part, it is kinda choppy :o

And the lag is probably because the blur filter is on "high" quality, which I shouldn't have done. It causes lag even with fast computers. :{

Works fine for me. But the lighter color blob on top of the eyes looks a bit unnatural. Perhaps if the eyes were in front?

I was gonna do that too, but couldn't think a way to do it.
The eyes aren't a separate object, and even if they were, it would make no difference what layer it was on, since the Shine is a shape tween and always on the top, no matter what.

Maybe some crazy script that forces the eyes to be on the top layer could work.

Thanks for the comments, both of you! I'll use them for future reference.

On second thought, a lot of it is kind of warbly.. it doesn't actually stay fluid and tends to look weird.

Xk is right, it's quite choppy. The light green color doesn't really look right. If you were trying to make it look like cartoonish lighting, it's not right. As for the shadow, the blur looks great, but the movement doesn't really match the pear. The stem moves a lot more in the shadow than it does on the pear.

It's an optical illusion generated from the shadow's distortion. :X
