Basically, last night my mate chantal told me that you can rent out a stall in the bournemouth town centre to sell your art and photography. She hasnt done it before, but thinks we should both try selling some stuff anyway.

It costs £40 to rent out a stall for the week (we'd have one each).

I'd be selling my photography, £30 a piece (thats the minimum price apparently). Hopefully, I'll have about 30 or 40 really good prints that I could sell.

Problem is, It'd cost quite a bit. It's £7 for 25 sheets of 8x10 photographic paper, and I usually get about 8 perfect prints out of that. And then I'd have to buy frames, which would cost up to about £60 altogether.

But if it is successful, and I sell a lot, I'd make a huge profit.

But anyway, should I go for it and risk it? Or not?

Does art and photography generally sell there, or is the place full of people desperate to sell their art but can't find any buyers?

Well, it's a very 'rich' place, full of old people who buy this kind of thing. Very, very touristy area too. Right next to the beach.

But yeah, we're going to go there possibly tomorrow and see exactly how much they sell, and what it's like. But going by comments from other people, they seem pretty successful. Obviously if your art sucks, you wont sell anything though.

South England. The Poole/Bournemouth/Southampton area.

I might as well go for it, I'll do some prints tonight.

Go for it. If you fail, you'll at least know it was a crappy idea.

Well, I've just bought 100 sheets of photographic paper and 2 rolls of film for £20. So tomorrow, I'll book out the stall, and take some more photographs. On friday, I'll start making the prints.

I also worked out that, at the minimum price of £30 a time, I'd only have to sell 3 photographs to break even. Any more than that is profit, which is awesome.

And I've already got people lined up (including my photography teacher), who want to buy some. So it should all go very well.

Yeah, if you can basically guarantee you'll break even then it's a great deal.

Did you check the place out first? Maybe ask some people who'd done it? I'd scout out any investment like that before I dipped into it, although it sounds like you know you'll at least make back what you paid for.
