If you can still do it the old way, it very well may be the greatest (puzzle) game of all time.

If not, it'll be beat out by Tetris Attack. But only by a small amount.

Hmm... looks a bit more high-tech than Tetris Attack, but it looks like the core gameplay hasn't changed... other than touch screen.

I just hope the controls are good enough to warrnt me to play it.

@ Xkeeper, The review said you could flip the DS, ala Brain Age.

I still prefer the, you know, normal version of playing It worked well for Meteos...

You can opt for D-pad control for more traditional Puzzle League gameplay, but unless you've got lightning thumbs, you'll never be able to compete against the stylus crowd.

Hmm... I'm not so sure about that. If you use the d-pad, it'll be below the screen instead of to the side. How does that work? I'd prefer the d-pad to the stylus, but not if it's set up like that.

Still, I'll probably buy it once it comes out. I'm lacking in DS games at the moment.

If we can use both the D-pad and stylus at the same time, then I might get it.
(sometimes you might need to move to the other side in an instant, and sometimes you might need to flip a piece in an exact moment...)

The shape of the pieces is kinda confusing anyways...

The game's played out through the Nintendo DS system's "book mode," meaning you hold the system vertically to have the touch screen on the right (if you're right handed) and the non-touch screen on the left. This is the default orientation, but it can be changed if you'd prefer to hold the system in the traditional fashion. It's your choice.

Also, apparently you can unlock a skin that makes the game like Lip's level from Panel de Pon(aka Yoshi's level in Tetris Attack)

Oh that is a relief then.

I prefer to play TA with a control pad. Touch screen seems a bit too... awkward to me for some reason.

I don't care if there are people that would kill me at the game. Its my favorite puzzle game. Period.

I'd be interested to try out the touch screen controls... since I enjoyed meteos so much

I can only imagine what sort of insane combos could be set up .

Though... I am thankful that classic play is in there too

If this is anything like Puzzle Quest, then I can already foresee a bunch of mis-hits with the stylus, causing mass frustration.

And if it's not, then I'm in love <3.

As long as you can touch-and-drag cross more than one single panel, that would be the only reason I would consider looking at stylus use. Being able to take a block and move it all the way across with good stylus control would be even better than using a keypad...provided you -had- good stylus control to begin with. If it's just block per block, then that's dumb.

Besides, the trend ended for me after PPL came out. I still like to kick ass as Lorelei.

The best game of all time was already released. There is an unloved thread devoted to it. Give it some love and try it out.
