The most random (and useless) of all numbers is one's score in Mega Man 1.

Actually, a lot of scores in games don't really matter, unless it goes on an online score board, or other people play the system and it has a high score list. I mean, take SMW. Does anyone really even pay attention to that at all?

Oh, haha. this was....

100th post!

I agree with the irrelevance of scores in games. Hence why I'm making the score in my SMB3 hack give you lives when it reaches a certain number. (The more enemies you kill, faster you get more lives... see the logic? )

Yes.

If you want to max out your score for nothing. (see: Forest of Illusion 1. Everyone should know this trick, right?)

And the coin ship and card game were also based off of the score, right?

I don't think the bonus coin-thing will let up any time soon. Well, until Monday, I bet.

And they were? I never really noticed that.. But that's just me.

And of course...The maxing out the score "for nothing" would make it pointless anyways, right?

The bonus coin thing better not let up soon, I have months of non-posting to make up for still

I can usually post way out of my posting range, but only if other people post with me. Otherwise there's pretty much nothing to reply to. And also, if there's something replied, but there's really nothing I can say back to the post, I just leave it, and then stop posting for months...but then things like these happen

Yes, but as I recall, the ship was based on other things in relation to the score as well. I'm not sure if the card game was the same... but having an award for JUST the score, especially one that gives you lives, is fairly nifty if you ask me. xP

The bonuses weren't really based on score. Just if this digit of the score and this digit of the timer and this digit of your weight matched you'd get stuff.

And HH, you thoguht of that number, so it's not really random!
How does that make it not random?

BTW, expensive machines can generate true random numbers, by reading radio waves or something like watching radioactive material decompose.

But also, it's based on those things, so technically, again, it would make it not random. And this bonus coin thing, it seems as if it's generated by how large the post is, though I may be wrong. And it gives around 700 for threads and such =/

Oh. I never really figured out the coin ship pattern... I'd sometimes never encounter it. Well, most of the time.

Yeah. ... Wait. So what are coins for? And don't coins in SMB3 also give you points?

Aren't coins just an additional way to give the player lives? And to implement a random collectible into the game just for the sake of collection?

No, I knew that, but isn't that like the only reason they are in the game besides the second reason? Oh, and I might nix that idea, since I made a post with about one sentence, while a larger post gave me a significantly lower amount of coins...

But this one did give me 484...

Coins in blocks give you 100 points. Idle Coins give 50.

Edit: 404 Bonus Coins for this post. xP

There's usually more coins idling in groups (like when you hit Pows) so they probably lowered the point value as to not make it overkill.

Government. Do it. Do it. DO IT. DO IT!!!

That would explain the point value differences. But still, that is coin prejudice, and will be eaten like a cake eats grass. A.K.A. not at all, haha. But still GOVERNMENT MOST PAYYYYYY (in coins.)

To help those who were wondering:

To get the Treasure ship, you have to collect a number of coins that is a multiple of 11. Make the tens (not the tenth digit) digit in your score match the multiple of 11. Stop the timer at the end of the stage that you are playing in on an even number.

To get the card game you just have to get 80,000 points (Edit: AND beat the level you got the 80,000th point on).

To get the ship, do you have to get all three of those (excluding the 80,000 points thing, and assuming that what you typed for the top part is three seperate things)?
